Oak Island is a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia. In the late 1800's some kids found a hole that lead to 100's of years of treasure hunters (including Presidents, John Wayne, others). It was 200+ ft deep with wood planks every 10-20ft, they found a mysterious coded stone inscribed that is supposed to read about "millions 40ft down" or some such thing. Legend says 7 must die before treasure is found, 6 have died so far. The thing was booby trapped and flooded when they got so far down.
There is a silly TV show about 2 brothers that are hellbent on finding whatever is hidden on that island be it in the money pit or elsewhere. There were other stones found inscribed and in odd positions all over the island.

All the metal detector fans comb the beaches after the tourist season ends here..looking for money and jewellery.
There is one guy that wears a wet suit and detects in the sea about knee level deep. I waited ages to see him get electrocuted..but he must have a water-proof one.

I have a DFX 300... We treasure hunt... Been doing it for years... Last few years not so much but I already got plans for spring! Its so much fun getting ripped and looking for stuff lol

Mossy that's what we'll be doing this summer... Got 3 spots to hit... St. Augustine Fl... Sanibel Island Fl. And outer banks NC... Old sunken Spanish Galleons!! The storms just throw their loads all over the place... There are lots of under water detectors... They also have covers for the coils...
