Welcome to AFN. People here want to help and like to see others succeed. I use the poke and pray method, but if your soil is hot it will not work well with autos. I would skip the jiffy pots and so far every seed I have planted has popped, except for the few I killed with my mistakes. Try and find a potting soil mix with seed starter nutes, pre soak the seed (24hrs) and poke and pray.
