So I have a nice, big Antec case for my stealth PC grow.

Mostly everything I need is done, but now I need to wire up the fan system; fine, I've got a pair of good 120mm fans for the job. Only problem is instead of just two wires (black and red, I've got five to deal with: three going to a three pin connector, two going elsewhere.

Anyone have any experience with how to get a Antec 120mm TwoCool fan to get properly connected to a DC charger? Pic follows:

The two wires together are in that single black wire sleeve the left, and the other three side by side are on the right: a wire with short white dashes, a wire with long white stripes, and a black wire with white writing.

I checked the computer case manual: no info on the fans other than they are two speed (and I believe the two in the sleeve are the speed controls; they lead to a switch on the back of the case that lets me manual flip their speed from low to high), and 120mm. I have no clue how to connect this to work with my charger. The case came with three fans, and I need at LEAST one to work, preferably two, but I fried one trying to figure out which wires are which (saw a small puff of smoke after several failed combinations).

Before I start a fire or ruin the last two, any help/advice? I could just buy some cheap two-wire fans from Fry's, I guess, but I already HAVE two brand new 120mm fans! I'd prefer to use these instead.

Can you take a pic showing the ends of the wires at point of connection and also separate them so we can see the print on the insulation also ?

I already clipped this fan free, and can't get into the case to show the connections on the others. They lead to a three pin and two pin connector, respectively (all black and connections are all black). If it's vital to see the pins, I'll have to wait a couple days to get back inside the case.

Here's a transcription of the middle wire (the two patterned wires have no writing on them):

well the wire with the lines on it (broken small lines on one side and longer broken lines on the other side ) are the symbol for direct current so those two would get hooked up to your dc power source and the other three in that tube (I'm just assuming now ) would be for one for each speed and a ground ....hope that makes sense ....I'm pretty baked right now ..hope that helps .....:Sharing One:

There's only two in the tube, and they're for speed control if I'm reading the manual right. The two lined ones, I suppose the question is which do I wire to red and to black? I'm assuming the one with just text is the ground.

Ya ....I would assume the same.....and I'm pretty sure even if you mixed up your black and red it shouldn't fry anything (as long as they are not shorting out somewhere) ...it will just turn the fan in the opposite direction of which it's supposed to turn ...hence you would just swap them to get them the way you want it to turn ....

Got it handled thanks to product support: the long dashes are negative, the plain black is positive, and the short dashes are ground. The other two are speed control.

Just have to wire red to positive, black to negative, tape up the ground, and flip the switch to High, and it works.
