What's the measurement for the new light I don't know if the 300w mars hydro led is the same measurements as the 600w I'll have to check it out mine has 2 fans on top does yours have 1 or 2? I think I have space sideways just don't know how much they are going to Bush out being a first time grow especially the fast n vast cause I have been doing lst to her. I just feel like junior ain't getting the light the other 2 are that's why I was thinking 1 more light and having them both for top lights with 3 girls in a row. I still have those 2 metal reflectors with cfls if they will help and can get more if needed.I really feel like they are both equally good, and the price per Watt is the same. The new light has switches to turn the lights on and off, and you can also choose bloom or veg mode. I just leave both modes on.
Now, I do like having the 450 W light on top because its wider than the 300's.

Lighting Need help with side lighting

I kept my Mars nearly on top of them. They do look very bright but they also are made up of 3 watt diodes which are only pushing between 1.25 -1.5 watts each. I forgot the actual power draw but I think it was 268 or so on a 600 panel. Since they are lower wattage they can be put closer. These would be very hard to damage a plant with intensity and there are also other signs they will show first before any real damage if there was.

I had the 3 on top in the nook before I set up the tent and moved the new light there.
Keep in mind, my photos are of the Mars300's, probably smaller than the ones you have.

Wouldn't it b nice if we can all meet up n smoke some trees together n talk about our grows. That would b the perfect situation for us potheads!!! That would be great Dan. This was actually last grow, which I royally messed up. Still averaged 2.5 oz per plant but I expected a lot more. Last night I dropped 12 more. 5 big head from head stash, 5 cream of the crop and 2 moby dick.
I'm trying to get my new lights in order and it's really affecting this round. The intensity of these lights are sick. My plants keep acting like they want more till I give it to them then they start showing signs of light stress. It's a struggle

They are stretching to much, a little is ok but they are real leggy too. I turned on the 600 watts of cobs and the leaves started tacoing and drooping. Last night I turned the cobs off and they seemed to perk back up so who really knows. I want to give them full light but autos for some reason seem very sensitive. I also hit them with 1500 ppm of co2 during the cob experiment to help them fully absorb the light but it's still to early I suppose
