Lighting Need help with side lighting

Witchy, ma'am,

Try autofloweringseeds.net next time. They give the best free seed offers. My favorites are big yielders Girl Scout cookies, vast and fast and anything made by dinafem. I'm ready to chop a dinafem critical now and it's massive. I think I spent 150 on my last order and ended up with 25+ seeds that were worth double my sale price. Good quality seeds and genetics.

I can't wait for you to plug in the Mars hydro!!! Actually I can't wait for you to open the box!!!!!!

Waiting patiently for you to see the difference between those lights is killing me. I'm trying to help so please don't take this the wrong way please. The Mars is a real light. The plastic Amazon light is mood lighting. There is a huge difference. Now the Mars costs 100$ ad that's what I spent awhile back, but now I'm currently waiting on 3 new lights msrp 1145 each. My last lights msrp 1695 each. When it comes to LEDs I have been at all sides of the spectrum, and you are personally taking a huge leap forward.

I'm very excited about the lights, too! They arrive tomorrow and I'm bouncing off the walls here. I'm even thinking about getting a few more so the little guys can totally bathe on the light. :)

Now, I'm sort of getting away from autos. I like the idea of being able to train and clone the girls. What are your thoughts on that?

Autos are perfect to help perfect growing. Learn them first than possibly make the switch. There is so much to lighting and it's all been fairly new to me too. I thought big bright LEDs were the answer. Hence my 2 1695$ lights. Shortly after one started malfunctioning. I have spent the last few weeks speaking to the owner of Amare technologies his name is victor. He has also fallen for false claims, had problems and just grew sick of the current lighting industry. He came out of a 20 year retirement to take the lighting industry back. Not only with the best lights on the market but the most efficient lights on the market. Watts is a big factor but par watts is the biggest. If a light is 500 watts but only 10% efficient the plants only see 50 light watts. His lights are 50% efficient so the plants see half the wattage. Mars and most other companies are below 30% range. Not saying they are bad just not as good. Cob led technology has taken the market over recently and that's what his lights are based off of. Then combined with top of the line individual diodes too. I am not an expert but I have done hundreds of hours of research. Lighting affects yields, heat and your monthly bill so I believe besides genetics it's the single most important factor in growing.

From start to finish I put my seeds directly into soil. Have good lighting and feed them proper nutrients. After you nail all those things down the plants do most of the work. You can do much more with 1 plant grown properly than 10 grown wrong. Once you figure all of this out the rest falls into place.

Hey Dan don't worry about the questions. I sat here for a minute and was ready to go into my methods when I remembered a sight I went to some time ago for advice on this same subject.

This is a great tutorial on the reasoning as well as how to, which is just as important. Once you learn this the rest comes easy.

Personally I waited till my plants seemed like they needed it. Due to height restrictions I let mine go about 2 feet before I did some lst. It works very well but also keep in mind that it does stress the plant a little and any auto stress equals slower growth for a short time after
Thanks for the link BigSm0! I'll be reading that for sure

Wow witchyhour looks like you went on a seed shopping spree :smoking: Nice variety of strains, looks like you'll be good for a bit

I'm trying a fast and vast now and a dinafem critical, cant wait to see the results. The fast n vast is sure looking like its name and its not even that old yet

Dinafem is my favorite by far. I just dropped some more critical, white widow and moby dick last week. My one current critical has eggplant sized buds all over it. Maybe some pics to come

Keep us posted on the lights, I'd love to see what lights over a thousand bucks can do!

I'm thinking about getting a couple more of the Mars and using the Mars lights just for the blooming phase. Heck, I'm already thinking I should have 6 of them for full coverage! lol

I'll post once I get them set up tomorrow. Do you think the lights will help fatten up those buds?
