Lighting Need help with side lighting

I read that rock wool is not so great, I don't remember why. Something about not being a green option and that other media would be better for the plant. It doesn't seem to hurt your girls, though. Any special reason why you choose to use it?

Because they said it was bad it had struck a nerve. It made no sense. I don't even presoak anymore because that shit about ph and whatever is nonsense. Grab some gro/dans they are literally like air. So I don't ever have a problem with them. I keep seeing all these beneficial methods being suppressed for regular home grow use. Home grow is "spend on this spend on that " so you have more of a complicated time trying to replicate some synthetic method rather than a more natural way. I just wanted to see for myself why it was so bad. It hasn't proven to be bad at all.

The fast n vast has some pretty big fans leaves on it toward the bottom. Should I tie them up like witchy was doing to get better light penetration or just leave them. She is at Day 23 today

The vast and fast look great. Your lst looks good too. Don't tie up the large fans. They are the solar panels for your plant. Lst helps more of these leaves get sun too so defo don't tie them up. You should also be close to nutrient time as well. Start with 25% and wait to see changes, good or bad then make adjustments.

Hi All, Newbie here and love the forum I was wondering about side lighting I am currently growing 3 plants with a old mars hydro 600w led I'm afraid that it won't cover enough angles for light as they grow right now there 18 days old I didn't know if I should look into some cfls 2700k with the metal bowl reflectors for side lighting or if they maybe make some small or screw in led's that will have more power. I'm trying to keep it pretty cheap I know cfls ain't bad money wise but im willing to go led if they ain't to pricey. Also whats the usual distance you would keep the lights from the sides of the plants Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

BrO check out my grow iv put led strips up the poles of my tent if this is of any interest to you it's my first grow with them and the plant looks great there cheap on ebay bro

Send some pics please. Remember most panels you purchase are 3&5 watt diodes cause they work best. Any LED lighting you add should equal the same.

For instance a 100 led panel @100 watts will lack the intensity. I leave the testing and engineering up to the smart people, just try to follow their lead is all
