It is VERY important that you check your ph and ppm, especially with autos ph in a hydro system should be between 5.6 - 5.9, i usually start my ph at 5.5 and let the ph go up to 6.2 before i bring it back down (thats just me) as far as ppm its important because every strain is different and takes different amounts of nutes. I understand you are following the directions on the bottle but its always recommended that you use 25% - 50% of the bottles directions at least until your dialed in with what the plant can handle.

Thanks everybody, I have learned a lot from you all. Id the PPM for the Nutrients? Is that what it measures?
I just bought the pH test kit with the up and down solutions so now I can control the pH but is it really neccessary to test for PPM if I am following directions on the nute bottles for mixing and strength?

Hell with it.

I'm throwing in the towel on hydro I think. My plant is finally flowering but will not be much. The new seed I sprouted was not doing that well in the pH balanced water so I just planted it in dirt and it is doing just great!
I need more experience before I try that again.
Thanks all, happy trails!

good choice Daisy... keep your dukes on and be patient..

I always recomend beginners start in soil... Hydro is a whole nother technical tool set to know... you should understand the basics first...
