Hey guys!
I am about to start my second grow and i need some help.
I got a 600w cooled HPS and a 4x4x6.5 grow tent.
I have 3x DP AutoBluberry, 3x DP Think Different and 3x DP AutoXtreme.
I'll be growing in soil (biobizz light mix)
How many plants should i grow? I am thinking whether i should grow 4 or 6 plants.
Thanks!

You have plenty room for six but I don't no if one light will cover six properly.

I'm with Nam. 6 will fit, but what size pot are you in? 600watts is short of being optimum, but will work if that is what you have. 800-1000 watts would be optimum.

Thanks for the quick answers
I'll be using 5 gallon pots
So i should go for 4 plants ?

You have a 4 x 4 space, or 16 square feet. I think you'll find the general consensus is that you want to try to be around 50W per square foot with your lighting for optimum coverage (it's not set in stone, many grow with less, some grow with double, once you get going with a few grows you'll see how subtle or not the effects are if you add or diminish your lighting at all.)

600W divided by 16 square feet gives you 37.5 watts per square foot. Not terrible but a like briman stated, 800-1000W would give you much better coverage.

I've grown the DP Autoblueberry in a 2 1/2 gallon pot and I grew Think Differents in 4 and 5 gallon pots, those TD's can get MASSIVE in those pots and I'm sure that DP AutoBB can get bigger in larger pots as well. I would say stick with 4 pots to start with and see where that takes you; you can still use techniques like LST (Low Stress Training) if the plants get away on you and I think it will give you the best potential for yield versus trying to juggle 2 extra plants with less-than-optimal lighting coverage. Know what I mean? Plus if you vary them up a bit on this grow, you can see how they grow and take notes so that on the next run you'll be better prepared for how they take nutrients, how they respond to training, the environment, etc etc. Do them all up at once and it's anyone's guessing game.

I like to do lots of pots in a small space myself so if you have any questions on anything, feel free to PM and I'll help you out personally. I'm a huge fan of LST (king of the fuzzy pipe cleaner over here haha!) and I've tamed even the most ferocious of beasts (so far!)

Hope that helps bro! :Sharing One:

Hi assulin, briman and namvet are correct, imo as well. I think if you grow out 4, you will find it more managable, and the yield will likely meet or exceed that of 6 crowded, underlit Ladies. Personally, I would not grow more than 4, and usually 3, in a 4x4 tent. Hope that helps :) Have a great grow!

Thanks for the answers guys! Helped me out a lot!
What is the best grow tent size for a 600w HPS then ? :)

I would still grow 5 in 5 gallon pots. 600watts will do a good job and it will fill the tent pretty good. I grow 5 at a time in my 4 x 4 and blaze 640w of led and I like the results.
