Not calling you an idiot, but almost every single "help what's wrong!" thread ends in telling the poster to check pH...with the combo I mentioned, you're almost guaranteed good results and stable pH.
I know I was kidding lol but which sites are the cheapest/best to buy it off of.. I wasn't really trying to buy soil online but if this is the safest route to take for PH wise I will take it... Im not really supposed to say this but I cant really afford a PH meter right now so a combo of expensive soils better do the trick!

Your friend with no pH meter probably has water which is bang on pH wise. If you hapen to have high pH water you will be just banging your head against the wall trying to grow pot. I am an old grower who does everything wrong and still gets good results. But I got a pH meter. Hanna is good quality stuff.
So the meter I posted is garbage? I understand your experienced and I didn't mean to come at you sideways like that because you are infact taking time out to help me. Right now I have those PH strips that you pee into cups and match up some colors to see where its at so could this be a temporarily substitute?

Great ID SmotPoker ... I've grown Nirvana's Blue Mystic 3 times this year. I wouldn't grow ABM w/o a 60" tall box. I'd grow Nirvana's Low Rider instead or a photo 12/12 from seed. If the link in my signature works it will take you to my latest ABM grow ... you'll see why 20" would be a little tight. I have a quality soil pH tester ... the soil in my pots is always between 6.4-6.8 ... I use Lamberts Organic potting soil from Home Depot. I mix it 1 to 1 w/ Perlite ... The soil is too heavy w/o the Perlite ... You will need to fertilize starting at 10 days. Good Luck w/ your grow.

Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference
If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.
For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5
If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5
and here's why ph is so important...the lock out issues
