greetings everyone!

i have been running around in Hong Kong trying to find medium for my first grow, with such a small city and not much people into gardening there aint much choice around (really only a few choices...), the soil i found are all fertilized and written on the back with PH 5 to 6.5 (from Taiwan, Netherlands, Germany etc etc all fertilized....)

as a new grower i really dont wanna do so much work fixing the PH, so i decided to use coco bricks break them down and use as medium.

would like to gather information with coco, i saw some videos some growers add perlite on coco, some dont, should i add or shouldnt? whats the proportion if i wanna add perlite? please help me out, any tips are good for me.

thanks much guys!

Add 30% but u need to buffer the Coco..u need to feed the Coco as well some fedd 3 times a day ..some less...
It is a Fulltime job tho with coco .

A Drip systen to regulate watering could help .
Also get a Ph pen handy and some Ph Buffereing solutions Cal/Mag can.be used as a Additive while.buffering the coco.

I have Taken a Fish Emmulsion amd a.Cal/Mag olution and used that prior to growing the plants .

Greetings from hong kong ..
What i like to do with my coco is flush/prepare it first ph it to 5.7 then then feed the coco at ph 5.8 with ec 0.4 then add seed or clone..
Then when the pots get light again feed at whatever the plants need maybe need to raise the ec ...
If i were u i would get an ec pen aswell as a ph pen
Hope that helped just wat i do ...
Atb Cheers

hello farmer420, do you mean hydroponic or DWC something etc, i mean just use coco as medium like soil, i need ph6.5 right? thanks.

p.s. i thought you could use coco coir replacing soil, just use water to expand them sit them overnight and then just use like as soil after, am i wrong?
