WB is that you that has talked about washing your freshly harvested bud in peroxide solution ? I was knocking around trying it. I need to come up with something, no idea wtf to do but when I pull a bud open and look...it's usually looking back. Caterpillars, and not just one or two. Will submergence drive them to come out ?

they will come out when the buds dry i know for sure, most likely when you submerge them as well but thats a guess.. Peroxide is used to clean pm, off of infected buds by Cervantes so that must have some merit.

Last night I picked out several chunks that were very likely prospects to be housing a worm. This morning I selected 3 and submerged them for 15 minutes or so in salt water. No sign of worms evacuating, so I'm off to the trimming table now to take them apart and see if I find any worms in the ones I soaked and then I guess go back to trimming, I have a ton of it to do still.

The hell of it is, I'm not quite certain any of this wormy bud is even any good. I don't mind going through chunk by chunk and evicting the critters...but I don't need to do that to have bud, I had better success with other plants. My concern is that these buds aren't as firm as others of the same strain that were not infested. The good buds were nice and tight, dense and firm, where these buds are...spongy {?} sort of like cake, not falling apart but also not firm. So the problem is, if I knew the bud was bad it would save me a ton of work processing it, I don't need to bother trimming, drying and curing crap.

I guess I no longer need to discuss peroxide washing. I've spent the morning inspecting bud and determined real early, I'm not trimming this garbage. I also confirmed a suspicion I'd had that the worms had gone after the biggest and best buds for the most part. I will recover little to none of the main cola's from 3 plants, and while that is unfortunate, the good news is I went through all the secondary and sub-secondary stuff, it was largely clean just smaller buds but quite a bit of it. In fact, it looks now like I'll be able to keep about the same weight I'll be shitcanning. Except I do plan to dry the wormbud and keep for a while, def not trimming any more of it but in case it's ok for something besides drying, curing, and smoking, I'll have it on hand for a while.
