Lighting new GN Units

If someone ideally had a fully upgraded ms004 or ms0006, and measured the wattage a couple of times over the course of an hour or so, it would let us know if the rebel modules use less/more/ or same wattage as standard modules. Either way, GN are pretty trust worthy, if they say the new light will have similar coverage to ms0006 with the better spectum of Rebels, then they will have.

LEDs have come a long way, and hopefully have a lot to come. The rumours surgest that the new 4 module rebel lights should be equal to the ms0006, end product ways. The Ms0006 had a max wattage of 270 avg 200 watts. Managing to reduce this down to 75 watt (while maintaining product quality) would be a leap to much. A number of people on this forum have upgraded their lights with rebels, could one of them measure the wattage draw (even if they've only upgraded a couple of modules), this would give us a better idea of the wattage of the new unit. With GN units, you can choose to have 2, 4 or 6 modules on. So why can't you just keep the 2 modules on that are rebel upgrades then turn the others off. Then test wattage?

i meant it's difficult to work out about the new unit because we don't know how many chips there using or what there driven at.

the fully upgraded MS0004s I use run at the same 120w as the standard but there are 30 chips in the Rebel upgrades opposed to 15 in the standard modules.

I've just caught up here!!
As billy Idol would have said "Rebel Yell!!!" ..... or "Yeah..Yeah..Yeah"

So this is just amazing! The size of a MS004 with more power than a MS006 ... quieter than a mouse and brighter than the sun!! (^_^)

if GNs history is anything to go by they will phase out the MS0006 when the new unit is out.

OMG!! I've just been on the grownorthern website and BOTH the MS004 and MS006 are unavailable!! ... What can it all meeeean???

It's the 29th May today, so potentially only 31 more sleeps until we know more about this mythical beast .. this shining pinnacle of LED future tech!

I love my MS0006 - No heat, awesome penetration and delivers the goodies. I even enjoy cleaning it after every grow. I'll have to be good this year and maybe .. just maybe santa will bring me money so i can treat myself (as santa never brings me grow gear!!)

I think more to the back end of June.

but it depends on how many units they will have e.g stock to sell they do not want to run out but its all dependent on when they have enough stock to cover the first lot of orders . .

I know there is a lot of hype about these new units and some people not too convinced that with lower power they will be better than the ms 0006.

but they have invested a lot of time and money in this and believe me I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how these new units work
