Hello AFN. I've been lurking here for a bit gathering a lot of great info. Without AFN I don't think I would have made it this far. I started 1 Barney's farm Pineapple Express 5 weeks ago, today is actually the start of week 6. This plant has been super easy to grow for me. I'm running a small tent with a 4" fan/filter combo. I'm only using 6 23w CFLs, 3 5000k and 3 2700k using an 18/6 light schedule. Planted in a 2 gal pot with FFOF. For nutes I'm using FF grow big and big bloom at half strength. Temps range from 79 lights on to 63 lights out and humidity has never gone over 55%, usually sits around 35-40%. Hope I covered all the general info.

So my issue is this white film that's on the leaves. I attached a pic that should show it clearly. It's only on the outside edges of the higher leaves. I don't think it's powdery mildew as its only on the leaves and doesn't seem to grow. However my theory is chlorine left behind from spraying her everyday. I know the chlorine is high in the town water and I've been letting it sit out for 24 hrs minimum before using it. Today I filled my spray bottle with water that has been through a Brita filter to see if it cleans up the plant any. Any other thoughts from the experts? She's looking so good I'm hoping this isn't something that could ruin her. I appreciate any insight from you guys. I'd like to keep this thread going too and keep you all updated.

Thanks everyone!

not an expert...but try posting a pic in the infermery forum. I had good advice from doing this. I'm subbed!

Sorry no help from me but I am curious also. As Springa said try posting this in the infirmary . Good Luck

If its chlorine iv seen people using a damp sponge to wipe it off and collected rain waters great for watering no chlorine and practicly pH perfect. But I'm sure she'll be okay looking good

Hello. To me that looks like some sort of water spots left from your sprays, probably nothing to worry about. :D

Discontinue use of the spray and see if it clears up or what, that's what I would do. Some people are firm believers in foliar feeds and I am NOT against them by any means whatsoever, but I just don't generally use them. Take care. :D

Well little update this morning. I sprayed her down last night lightly with water that had been run through a filter first. Things seem to have cleared after a few hrs but she still had spots so I lightly sprayed her again and this morning she's back to her dark green self. I'm going to say it was just left over crap from the water treatment in my area. Ill start running everything through the filter now before letting it sit out. Glad it was something simple. I'd hate to make it this far so easily to lose her. Also forgot to mention I've been using molasses on opposite waterings from the nutrients. She started producing trichs a few days ago too. Ill update with pics at the start of week 7. I think I ready in one of the threads I should stop the veg nutes at week 7 and only run flowering nutes until two weeks before harvest. That sound about right?

It just looks like dried up minerals from the water you have been spraying on them, I dont typically spray my plants unless its a foliar feeding but I had seen the same thing before myself.

I do think that most people by this time in your grow, have stopped follier spraying. People are too paranoid about mold getting in the buds and such, not that there is not safe ways to do it either.

my two cents

Eek

That thought never crossed my mind Eekman, thanks for the tip. Now that she's all clean ill stop the spraying and remember for next time to stop around this stage.

Start of week 7

Just a little update: Yesterday was the start of week 7 and she continues to look good. I tied some of the side branches down a few days ago to try and increase light penetration. I have trimmed a few fan leaves in the past to allow more light in but I felt it would be better to keep as many as possible at this point. She's smelling good too! If I touch the buds a bit the smell reminds me of eastern white pine sap x with some citrus. Also going to see if I can edit the title of this thread to make it a little more relevant as there aren't any issues I need help with. Here's some pics let me know what you think!
