New Grower New Grower...looking for advice!

1st time grower...

Ima 1st time grower...I was thinking about going with the fox farms ocean forest for my soil and 400watt hps....would using a 400watt hps be a good idea? if so...how many plants would you recommend I pit under 1 400 watt hps...I want 2 grow atleast 6 plants!

Im a new grower...im thinking about going with fox farms ocean forest soil and a 400watt hps light...I want to grow 6 plants...would this be enough light for 6 plants? Six plants may be pushing it a bit, but it could be done.You would have to keep them close together and they might get a littlecrowded.I think you would be better of with four but thats only my guess.Somebody that uses hps will have to give there opinion.

welcome to AFN poohman!!...you will find all the info you need for growing autos right here on the site!!..:thumbs:..what size pots do you plan on using for your grow??...if you use 2 to 3gal. pots...you should be able to run 6 plants no problem under a 400w HPS...you mite want to start with a lighter soil mix for your seedling though...the OF is well known for burning up seedlings...mite want to try using Pro-Mix BX...or a 50/50 mix of the OF and Light Warrior...:thumbs:...again welcome to AFN my friend!!...enjoy the site!!...

i've only used HPS lights...1000w dual spectrum...i am looking into some LEDs though...i've just got to get over the prices!!..if i don't go that route..i'll be getting some 16 lamp Quantum Bad Boys...:thumbs:...

Thanks MrNiceSmoke.....I planned on using 1-2 liter pots....im gonna germ them using the paper towel method...then plant them....so u think I should go with a lighter mix then transplant them? any advice when it comes to transplanting? Im growing in actual walkin closet..about 6 feet long 3 feet wide...any advice for set-up...Thanks for the replies...I greatly appreciate any advice and direction!
