Mephisto Genetics New grower looking for advice.

Hey @ReptillianSorcerer93 I'm a biotab/autopot grower and one of my tents is similar to what you're doing I believe. I agree with the advice of the other folks to determine what your priorities are in your grow. I went with the biotabs system after using soil and bottle nutes for a few rounds and won't turn back. I'm not a fan of all the measuring you have to do with bottle nutes. My results would probably be better if I was more regimented, but I like the flexibility. The largest amount of work with tabs is the medium mixing and setup, but that's true of any style.

If you choose bottle nutes invest in larger diameter tubing for your main water supply line to the pots. That'll help avoid clogging....don't have to worry about it with "water-only." I'll admit I haven't used the newest components (sicilium and pk boost) of the system, but I do well without and will exhaust the products I have before I get the newer additions. I tried boom boom spray this time around on some pot bound plants and it worked well.

I have a 6" hyperfan in my stealth box. The controller is built in and it's pretty quiet, although a bit pricey. The second fan I bought that's in my 5' tent is a cheap inline 4" on a speed controller from the zon.

Whatever you choose, just do it to it and enjoy. :vibe:

hey dude. Im on my first grow, using biobizz -grow,bloom and top max. I think.theyre great, I like the whole organic thing and they definitely improved my grow. I had been giving 1/4 strength but gradually moved up to full strenght and have had no sign of nute burns.
From what I can tell, the grow/fish mix and bloom are your base N-P-K, the others are more to do with enzymes and microbes in the soil, to make your soil more nutritious for the plant and uptake those nutrients more effectively. I'll definitely be using them again and prob adding root juice and algamic to the mix.
Good job on your research and good luck!
Thanks for the reply man! Do you still ph your water? Or do you ph your soil? Also what soil are you using? I was planning on doing biobizz light mix 50% and perlite 50%? I think I'll leave the biotabs for now then and start on biobizz!

Thanks mate.. I wasn't really going down the autopot route just yet, wanted to keep it bit simple at 1st and start of with normal grow. Can you ONLY use biotabs for autopot system? I was thinking of using the biotabs purely for the organic reason. But to be honest I'm starting to realise every one does it different and it' just a trial and error.

No, you can use anything you'd like with the Autopots. There are a ton of folks on here that rock it with all lines of nutes. I'm shocked at what some folks are doing with auto flowers, autopots, and pretty simple nute formulas. Yea the use of organics is the second reason besides time that I picked the biotabs.

Although, I do have dreams of experimenting with amended soils to try and achieve a water only scenario with tea boosts. Once I get space and won't sacrifice my primary grow though...

Tbh mate im on a serious budget, call it " a poor mans grow" lol i used some off the shelf coco coir that I had to rehydrate and some compost from my compost heap. Bout 75% to 25%, did an at home ph test and got nuetral results and I picked up a cheap ph/moisture/light meter thats reading 6-7. (Tho only ballpack results at best!)

A digital soil ph tester is on my xmas list tho! I figure the ph of the feed less important than the ph of the soil? Tho both would probably be best.

I didnt use perlite (lack of patience) and I seriously regret it! Drainage isnt optimum and the soil has really compacted. Ill be going 20l lightmix to 10l perlite next round.

If ya fancy a look at a low budget, beginners grow (which has had its fair share of set backs) check out my journal lol
