I've got a problem and need some help. I started my first autos 1 week ago from seed, and so far all is good. Nice roots and everything in place. Only problem is that it turns out I will have to leave/harvest in what will be the plants 8th week.
Don't want to harvest (too) prematurely, so I was hoping someone could tell me their secret trick on how to make this go smoothly!

Moved your question to it's own thread.

About the only thing you can do to speed things up is to switch to bloom nutes a little earlier. Where waiting till vertical growth stops gets them bigger for max yields, switching nutes a couple weeks earlier will speed things up a bit, but of course, cut into the final yield. Instead of waiting till week 6 to switch you'll probably want to do that at the end of week 4.

What kind of lights are you using?

Thank you for that muddy!
I'm using a Procyon 100 which features 56 high power LEDs (40 Red, 16 Blue) with 100W nominal LED power delivery. At the same time I'm also running 2x 24watt T5 6500k with 2000 lumens each.

Also, when should I start veg nutes? After about 2 weeks of growth?

I'd reccomend you look around in the Refernce Links and the Cannabis Infirmary as well... there are lots of articles in there to help you understand better...

here's a rough guide for autos for you to get a general concept from:

what i mean is that not all autos are the same lol
I have been growing the same genetic line for over a year now
and they all seem like they really like my fert schedule.

This is what i doi break it down as follows

First off let me talk about what i use as ferts. I have a 4 part system that i use and most of this is in the brain so please bare with me as i share this one.

I use FF grow big (hydro formula) Tiger Bloom and then two tea variations. One is high in N for veg and the other is high in Phosphorus when its time to flower.
I apply these through out the grow. I use the FF to get it started.
then i move to the teas and then back to the FF and then back to the teas

So i break it down like this:
FF GB is 3Tbsp/1Gal for heavy feedings. So in my mind this is more than enough for our fave friends. So it states that 2tbsp/1gal is for normal feedings so i use this as my base number. After that i break it down into 1/4

at 7 days i start like this
Day 7 1/4 dose to a gal
Day 14 1/2 dose to a gal + 8oz of N rated tea
Day 21 1tsp GB and then 1/4 of TB (bringing in the TB)
Day 28 1/2 TB + 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Day 35 1.5 tsp TB to a gal
Day 41 2tsp of TB and 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Then Flush till finish unless it needs something at the end.

I think that this is everything that i do like i said i am not sure as this is all in my head. If the plants demand more that i give more this is just something to go by. I usually do not swap in clean water feedings at all over the fert program. I just use the jug then its gone. Now if i start to see over feeding or lockouts ill flush.
But if i keep my water on point i never usually see a lock out or toxicity.

Hope this helps

When to start veg nutes depends to a large degree on what's in your soil. A "hot" mix like Fox Farms Ocean Forest won't need any additional nutes for 3-4 weeks while a soil less mix, like Pro Mix, will need a light feed after 14 or 15 days.

6500k bulbs are good for veg. I would look to switch them over to some 2700k ones for flowering. How many plants are you growing? Looks like you're got enough light for no more than 2-3.

Thank you for that muddy!

I grow hydro, so no soil. I have 6 underneath those 3 lights. They seem to be enjoying it so far. Its been 14 days today, so I decided to feed them 1/4 of veg nutes. Hopefully they wont act up too much

The way it is set up is that I have the LED hanging over them, with the 2x 6500k mounted on the sides (it's a closet).
I've heard several different statements regarding the light distance. How far should I keep my LED from the plant? Doesn't create much heat, so right now I'm just keeping them as close as possible.

Thanks again for the great help!

Okay, didn't realize you were hydro. I don't grow hydro so probably not the best person to give you advise on that.

Regarding your LED, set it at about 16" and then watch your node spacing. Raise or lower it to keep the nodes about 1" apart. Once it goes into full flowering, sometime around week 5 or 6, then lower it to about 12" and maintain that space till they are finished.
