Welcome to AFN. HTG Supply doesn't always carry the best quality components, which is why they can sell them so cheap. Not saying they are necessarily bad, just that there are better components available for a little more money. What lights to use will depend somewhat on the dimensions of your grow space. LEDs would be my first choice if you can afford them. More money up front but over a period of a few years they will pay for themselves in electrical and replacement bulb savings. T5HOs would be my second option. Efficient and less heat than HPS. While 2' fixtures are available the 4'ers work better, so your grow space would need to be big enough to accommodate them. CFLs are another option. They are available in anything from the standard 23 watters all the way up to 300 watts. Again, less heat and cheaper to operate than HPS. HPS would be your cheapest option up front but they are more expensive to operate and generate a lot of heat.

Let us know the size of your area and how you're planning to ventilate it. We can make more specific recommendations with that info.

Im Looking At Using A Tent Or A Small Closet Around The Size Of 3' Wide 3' Deep And About 6 Or 7' High. I have An A/C Background So I Can Build/ Install Whats Needed For Venting I Was Looking At Using An Inline Duct Fan And Using Carbon Filters. Also Its Gonna Be In A Basement Way Up InThe north So The Temps Will Be A Little Cool A Majority Of The Year. I Really Appreciate The Help Guys Thank U Soo Much! And IDont Mind Spending A Lil More Now To Get A Better Product Ive Just Had Trouble Finding Sites As Easy As HtgSupply The Seem TO Have Everything Ready To Go. I Will Have Room For 4' T5. And I Was LookiNg At Using Both Leds And T5 Lights Because I Read That The T5 Are A Great Supplemental Lighting To Go With Led Lights. That Could Just Be Some Salesman Bullshit But It Seems To Make Sense Have The T 5 Lights In The Corners Than Use An Led Hanging From The Ceiling. Like I Said Im A Complete Newbie SoAny Suggestions Would Be Greatly Appreciated Thank U!

For 9 square feet you'll need at least 450 watts to light it. A general rule of thumb is 50 watts per square ft. minimum, with 60 optimum. I run an outdoor box that is about the same size. I've been using three 240 watt LEDs which do a pretty good job. They actually draw about 140 watts each, so I've got about 420 total watts. I could use another 100 watts but get descent results from them. You might consider a 300 watt LED, which should draw around 240 watts. Adding a 2 bulb T5HO on each side will give you another 216 watts for a total of about 466, depend on which LED and it's actual draw. Another option might be two 180 watt LEDs and the two T5HOs. A 4" inline fan and carbon filter will be plenty for that size room. If you want to go all out, install one of these: http://www.qcsupply.com/commercial-...mount-variable-speed-controller-110-volt.html. It will automatically speed up or slow down your fan as needed to maintain the set temperature.

Personally, I wouldn't buy LEDs from HTG. Check our LED forum and you'll find reviews and info on a variety of LEDs currently being used by our members. You'll be able to find better quality lights than what HTG is selling. For the other items, fans, filters, nutrients, etc. check this site: http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/. I've been using them for years and they will price match. Great service as well.

Six dwarf autos would fit nicely in that space. Think Different is a bigger plant so maybe 4 plants if you choose to grow it. Most all of today's LEDs are manufactured in China and are equipped to work on any world wide current. When bought in the US most are shipped with a 110 cord. If you want to run them at 220 you usually have to request a different power cord or purchase your own separately.
