Hey Everybody. I'm thinking on doing an outdoor grow next year and wanted to see if it's right for me. I've already dedided im going to use autoflowers due to my climate. So what are some good strains? I need something hardyish as it's a fairly odd climate and can change easy. I am also very unsure about soils and nutes and how to use them. I am a canada guy "eh" and don't have acess to FFoF which seems to be the prefered soil! If you got any of this info i'd love to hear from ya and pick your brain.

Thanks!

Hey rog welcome aboard. You might want t start a thread on the introduction forum. AFN as lots of growers from the great white north. Most grow indoors but I'm sure that you can find someone with a climate similar to yours that has experience growing outdoors. Good Luck eh

I just did my first outdoor grow and I use fast and vast. I used plain potting soil it turned out pretty good for my first attempt search newbie vs fast and vast

Hello
As the last guy said potting soil is fine. Add some dolomite lime in to help keep the PH in order. Watch the soil you get as some has added fertilizers already. Maybe add some Perlite for a bit of drainage and it keeps the soil from packing too much. The girls like to breath.
Good luck from another Canuk

When growing outdoors it's hard to keep the plants on a regular feeding schedule. You're likely to experience times of rain and high humidity where the pots will be too wet to feed. IMO it's a good idea to mix some composted manure, worm castings or guano into you mix so there is something to feed the plants when you can't. As already suggested, mix enough perlite into the mix to keep it loose and well drained so it does dry out faster after those rainy times. Be cautious using FFOF. We've seen extreme variations in its starting pH, which it often being very low, sometimes as low as 5.5 right out of the bag. Low pH can cause a lot of plant issues. Being Canadian your should have access to the whole Premier Horticulture line of products. They have several mixes in their retail line that are better suited than FFOF.
