New Grower New to AFN so here goes my first auto grow!

LOl cool, yeah I guess indoors you HAVE to be there a few times a day. Thats what I like about outdoors, I can leave them for a few days, a week even, esp photos once they're established. Yes fem seeds are they way to go. I used to hate putting in 5 months growing and having to kill half the grow. Well worth paying the money for.
Well worth indeed for your time, equipment, nutes, ect. Better to know what your getting! Yeah outdoors next year for me should be interesting I plan on digging into the clay and build an above ground box to fill the clay and 1ft off the ground with a super soil mix so I can pull hopefully a good plant! I love the sun and how the plants love it so much more!

Looking so good! Pushing it in 110 degree heat but I'm working on getting it cooler but still amazing to see these results with this heat! Although these girls are mighty thirsty!

Yeah I got really clay soil too, can't just dig a small hole and fill with fast draining soil or it will end up a bucket of water in heavy rain lol. I have with some photo holes but they are dug about 4-5 ft deep and 3ft wide. I also smashed up the clay at the bottom of the holes and threw in some gypsum as a clay breaker, then filled with my soil mix. It is near a creek so it's gravelly clay which probably helps with drainage a bit. Before filling with soil, i dropped a whole watercan in the hole at once, 9 Litres. It pooled of course but was all drained within 24 hrs. I'm doing my autos in growbags to keep their heads above the water lol. I live in a flood zone, I get fkn heavy rain at times. Yeah the sun...the plants love it, they know the real thing....

Yeah they do! If you use a terrarium to start seedlings outside they prosper inside them! That's a great idea with the gypsum and yeah I live in a valley that was flooded by the river running through the citie so it's a weird clay sucks heaps of water a lil slowly, I've never had a problem with it for any plant but still it's harder for the canna roots to push through it but man when they do that plant will not move lol
