Hello All!

Just wanted to throw a basic introduction out there, seeing the community here is pretty awesome! I came across AFN on a random google search and quickly found my self amazed at the extensive knowledge and community interaction here. Far more so than other boards i used to frequent, so i now find my self lurking these boards on a daily basis and absorbing all sorts of great info.

Ive been smoking since 92 and havent looked back. Recently i decided that i am sick of dealing with middle men and sub par product and want to provide myself with my own goodies lovingly prepared with my own two hands. Ive always loved having house plants and what better babies to take care of than ones that will return the favor down the road!

I have yet to start my first grow aside from some random single plant attempt that went south fast years ago due to my lack of any kind of research at the time. We were all young once right? I am currently waiting on my tax returns so i can get a solid tent setup running in a guest room we have.

Before i realized there was such a thing as auto flowering strains i went ahead and purchased 10 photosensitive afghani seeds from buydutchseeds.com (not feminized). I went with the non-feminized type at first with the hopes that i could seedbank my first run and never need to purchase seeds of this strain again. Even if emergencies arose and everything had to get wiped clones and all. So these will be the first babies i will run with. Most likely i will go auto next run but ive already dropped the $$ on these guys so that's that.

The tent will be 36"x36"x60" with a 600W digital mh/hps setup on and 18/6 cycle for veg and 12/12 for floweing, with an aircooled hood. There will be a carbon scrubber with a 6" 440cfm fan on a speed controller for scrubbing and outlet ventilation. Hoping to use straight negative pressure for intake at the bottom of the tent. I plan on using a 50/50 happyfrog/ffof mix with some perlite added, along with the fox farm trio of nutes for when they are actually ready to be fed.

I should be getting my ph pen in the mail soon and just need a new airstone to get my water reserves bubbling.

All of these decision were based off the vast amount of information available on this site. I want to thank all of you for your contributions as you have made this endeavor much simpler to figure out for me.

As soon as i have all of my equipment Ill start an actual grow journal, as well as the flood of questions im sure im going to have during the actual process. I cant wait to get that ball rolling! (although i may have to wait a bit longer since my city just announced there once a decade property inspections for tax evaluation, last thing i need is city suits randomly showing up to inspect every corner of the house!)

Anyway a little long winded i know, thanks for reading and i look forward to being a part of this awesome group of folks!

Welcome to the spot:group:great vibe and lots of knowledgeable growers that wont hesitate to help ya out:dance:
Much luck and never hesitate to ask:wiz:

Welcome to AFN setup sounds great hope you find your self at home here and if you need anything just hola and someone will be there bro :smokebuds:

Thanks for all the well wishes guys, greatly appreciated. Im sure ill have a ton of questions once i get close to my actual start. It'll be a few weeks to a month most likely between the inspections and waiting for equipment to arrive. Itll be a great lesson in patience to get me ready to be patient with the ladies. The thing about afn that keeps me coming back is that i feel like i can ask anything and people actually enjoy helping people who want to help themselves!
