New Grower New to autos. need poormans tips soil, lights, nuts, tlc tricks.

Killer smoke can be grown with inexpensive setups. You've already done it with photos, so you know that. And you have plenty of solid advice here.

IMO, the most important difference to consider when trying to decide to go auto is that you will really only get one shot at veg during the grow. Those first 4-5 weeks are critical and will be the difference between yeilding a zip or just a bud on a stick.

Good Luck :tiphat:

thank you fweedom,
People have their own issues and i would rather leave mine behind.
this forum has the best info out of all of them. im not doing this to impress anyone, but myself. if i could afford it id be very detailed an wana learn hydro and etc. try different strains.

just looking for safe cheaper alternatives.
btw never answered which pro mix hp (i found like four five different ones)
which sunshine??

i might give in to something expensive. im changing to grow bags. (How big of a bag for autos) i was getting 5gal bags for good 10 pack for 10 bucks. lol
Thanks

Both of these were in 11L normal cheapee pots with normal, basic, really cheap compost from a garden centre, thats it.

Both yielded surprisingly well, Weed, is, just a 'Weed' after all innit?

Best of luck on ya grow bro, no matter wot it costs to do.

Tis not all about the money, more about the skill anyway.
PEace.

I think Muddy suggested Sunshine #4 for a low-heat setup.

I don't know anything about HP but you might also consider Promix Ultimate Organic.

3 gallon pots/bags seem to be the most widely used size for growing big autos. Almost everyone uses between 1-5 gallon. I've also seen as small as solo party cups all the way to 10 gallon.

If you want a real treat, check out some of Stunted's grows. I didn't know what he pulls off was even possible. There is a 1000 gram auto on here, for the other extreme, somewhere by Mr Ganjamato but idk what size pot he was using.

Hope this helps

Could you elaborate on that please. New to AF and I believe what you mean is a strong 24 hour light schedule? And good feeding? Or do you change your light schedule around too to assist? I was going to run 20/4 the whole time but will read up and sub in on this forum. Good luck.

Btw these grow outdoors. Alone. That's free. Doesn't have to be expensive! "My 2 cents"

I was just pointing out that, compared to photos, the seedling and vegetative stages are very critical with autos. If you mess something up during these stages, autos just don't have time to recover. They will start flowering on you whether you want them to or not. If your auto has been stunted and is still small when it switches to flowering, you're simply going to be stuck with a small plant. With photos, youre able to extend the vegetative stage as needed to give the gal time to recover.

IMO, the different auto light cycles (24/0, 20/4, 18/6) don't really result in much of a difference. Personally, I like to give a dark period of some sort. I usually cycle through the 3 but will most likely omit the 24/0 cycle going foward. Again, I don't think it matters a whole heck of a lot if you choose either of the 3 from seed to harvest. Having said that, 20/4 from seed to harvest would be my recommendation as the best cycle for maximum yeild. If you want to save a few bucks, go with 18/6 "My 2 cents"

Great point on using the best light available, our free and constant star in the sky.

Ok thank you. And the switch to bloom nutrients would be around the time It pre flowers? My plant has been like this photo for awhile. It stretched and then stopped. Its kinda stagnant. I assume it will pick up. Anyways. Cool! IMG_0778.jpg
