WHAT UP AF'ers?

Fairly new to the site, kinda caught it just after I got my grow going on, but still have gotten so much from the site so far. Doing an outdoor grow in Oregon right now, along with my vegetable garden. I got a tiny head start on July 1'st since I'm doing outdoor for now and wanted to get in two seasons. Have a small indoor setup going on that I started my seeds in with a UFO LED, but am already starting to plan my setup for the fall. Will be looking to here for plenty of good advice.

Any advice people have for my current grow, I'd love to hear. So far it's going pretty well — about to hit a huge heatwave here though with temps up to 100 and in the 90 for a week or two. Any advice people have for me getting through that too would be greatly appreciated. I moved the couple plants in smaller containers into my basement under the LED for the time being and threw em on a 20/4, so they're gonna be fine but I have a couple plants outdoors in 15 gallon smart pots that I cant move in.

Thanks for all the great info here everybody, so far its been a huge help!

Hi RED

Welcome to AFN the home of autoflowers

RED DANSON great name and funny too XD

I see you already have a grow journal in the Outdoor/Greenhouse section of the forums, great start.

If your still new to growing and need advice or help with your grow, I would suggest it moving it to the new growers forum as you will get more traffic passing by. A mod can do this if you want it moved.

However if your confident with your growing skills , then the Outdoor section will be perfect for you. :D

Big temps are a bitch anything over 90F and your plant will slow down to a stop until temps lower again.

Indoors AC can be used and turning off your light in the hottest part of the day are the most common ways of combatting summer heat.

Out doors is not so easy, keeping them well watered is important as they will transpire a fair amount of water ( but don't water log them they still need oxygen to the roots) or you could try using greenhouse shade cloth to give them a little respite from a blazing sun.

Heat waves are just that, waves, and you might just need to ride it out until it rolls on by.

Don't forget to post lots of nice outdoor pics, we love to see them in all their natural glory under the sun as mother nature intended.

Anything you need to know just post it in your journal and one of our awesome members is bound to have an answer or two.

Great to have you in the fammunity and I wish you much success with your grow.

see you in the forums

Hey Red,

it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Don't worry about the heat. They love it. Many originate from places like Pakistan and Afghanistan etc, so they are well used to a bit of sunshine.

Not sure how our geography compares (latitually) but you could check out my outdoor grow from last year in the UK. Click on the link below.

Enjoy your growing and good luck. eP.

Welcome to the Family, Red!
We share a name, a state and similar grows! :d5: The gals I have outside seem to be loving today’s 90+ degrees. Just getting their third set of true leaves, an about an hour away from 17% RH. I'm worried (always) but so far so good.
When the hundreds hit tomorrow, I may give them some afternoon shade if they're obviously stressing.
Happy Growing, Brother!
:peace:,

BIG thanks to everybody for the kind welcome and all the advice!

@arty zan i'll probably will move it to the new growers section, thanks for that advice and the warm welcome!

@BR549 yeah dude, same here — now way was expecting THIS early.

@The Elvis diggin' your crystal meth grow, will be growing some of that soon. i think i recognize it from fastbuds instagram account. i've got that fastberry they've posted a couple pics of in the past week or so.

@epenguin @Renaissance Redneck so far my plants were loving that 90 temps today too!!! i think my fastberry had her record day — indica dom so that makes sense.

@epenguin can you help out with moving my grow journal? i tried to figure out how to PM you, but maybe I'm too new? thanks in advance.

Glad to be part of the famunity!!!
