I've been looking around at nutrient combo's. I'm kinda confused as to which set to buy. It's not price, its that some say to use a base nutrient, and some say combine with "THIS" for best results. Just need a point in the right direction.

Well I'd suggest a simple 3-part nutrient line for a start. Look at GHE, Canna and Advanced Nutrients for example.
The three bottles you want are usually called grow, bloom and micro or similar.

What kind of hydro setup are you using? I'm running a RDWC system and had terrible results from the Advanced pH Perfect. I'm now using the House & Garden Aqua Flakes and am very pleased with them. However the pH Perfect seems to work well in DWC systems.

I was warned that it wouldn't work well in my RDWC system but had already purchased them so had a go. It proved nearly impossible to maintain a consistent pH and the plants really suffered. pH swings from 5.6 up to 6.4. Yet it seems to work very well in DWC. Jackal and I were just discussing this last week. He doesn't worry about the pH, just sets his ppm and away he goes. His results speak for themselves. I decided to use what I had left in my current soil less grow. I'm not happy with it there either. I'm using RO with ppm of about 20, add some cal/mag to raise it to the recommended 100 - 125 range, then add the base nutes. pH drops to 5.7 - 5.8. Unless I raise it, I'm seeing signs of lockout. Once I'm through these bottles I'll either switch to another base nutrient or just go with regular Canna, not the pH Perfect. I'm having good success with their supplements, both in soil and in the RDWC, so will likely continue to use them.
Keep in mind that pH Perfect was designed for use with RO and other low ppm water sources. Unless your base water has a ppm lower than about 125 I wouldn't recommend using it.
Muddy, whats wrong with a PH of 5.8? every ph guide I've seen shows 5.7-6.2 to be the idea range to maintain for hydro, with maybe working the higher end in flower, 6.0 -6.2.

Nothing if you can keep it stable. The problem with the pH Perfect was it was all over the place day to day and the plants were really suffering. Soon as I switched to the House and Garden Aqua flakes that all went away, the pH stabilized and the plants responded.
