so this may be a ridiculous newb question... HOWEVER- Im a tad bit confuzzled.

I constantly see (when researching strains) 60 days from seed or 60 days from germination.

ok. thats great.
now heres my question.

60 days from germination. Does that mean 60 days from the day you see the tap root or 60 days from the day you BEGAN germination? what if you germ directly in soil? Does that then mean 60 days from the day you planted it or 60 days from the time it breaks the soil?

Most likely means 60 days from breaking soil. Really its irrelevant, however. Its all lies :thumbs:

Autos frequently go longer than the seed bank's marketing projections for finish times.

lol LIES! ALL OF IT!

yea- ive read they generally take longer than the breeders specifications, i just want to have a generalized time line to go off.

For example - Ive got an automaria2 baby that broke the soil 12 days ago. Paradise says approx 60 days indoors and the grow report says roughly 72-75 days. If I were going from the time I saw the taproot, she'd be 15 days so I would harvest too early. Maybe Im just high and reading too much into it - haha

wheredaweedat = stonerr

:smoke:yes, you're taking it too literally.

Check out Muddy's threads on the life cycle of an auto and using the leaves to tell when its finished. I believe they are stickied in the New Grower's section. :tiphat:

most people start counting days after it breaks soil :Sharing One:

they're probably as well talking if you're using hydroponics and CO2 injection and maximum light and perfect temperature and humidity, then plants will grow much faster....

most growers don't have all this so will grow a bit slower, maybe an extra week or two

I will definitely do that, thanks!

I would say that you could easily add three weeks maybe four to what the press release says. Take that as an average and around that time YOU WILL KNOW when the girls are ready. They will tell ya. The skill is in guessing/aticipating this real time and putting in place a flush and period of darkness to get the best from them. Use your common sense, it usually works. Unless you are a thick penguin. But even I did a half decent job so I am sure you can. Good luck pal, eP.
