Hi there! I'm a new member here (almost 10 days by now reading the forum). Never grow anything else before (just beans when on school) :lol: :)

Location: South America. (25C~30C and these days the humidity is high - raining time).
Strain: Jock horror auto fem by Nirvana. Take 3 days from seed to sprout.
Soil: organic substrate.
Lights: 24hrs first 10 days, then 22/2 now (first 10days indoor, and now it's outside on the balcony of my apartment, but with lights pointing on the plant too). Strong 50W 6000K white led (35000 lumens measured with 15cm of distance from the led).
Grow room: outdoor with fresh air. At night some insects go to the plant because of the lights.

Age: 15 days.
Feed/Nuts: first 7 days just water, and then a little of nitrogen only to day 10. Day 11 feed with an organic nut that I found on market to feed tomatoes and vegetative food (almost 1%, 1%, 1% and some micronutrients). Everything dilued on filtered water (without chloride). And I'm giving like 500ml of this water/feed on the evening/night when I turn the light off for 2 hours). I sincerely have no clue about what ph of the water/feed I'm giving to the plant (ordered a digital ph meter - will arrive soon).

My concerns:

1 - Is my plant growing kind? I see on the forum plants with 15 days much more bigger/puff than mine;
2 - Is my plant sick? As you can see the tips of leaves are burned. First I think it's the LED/lights burning when I see the first leaf burned and raise the LED, but the other leaves appear to be burned too 3 days later.

Sorry for the lack of complete info, and I known this isn't the perfect scenario to grow this plant, but for now it's what I got. I really doesn't want to get paranoid about get things "perfectly done". I just want to have fun and raise a little one on my home and try it. I doesn't smoke for like 2 years and never been a frequently smoker. I just want to have fun, that's it.

Someone can give me a clue and tips to continue this journey? :)

As you said, your plant is small for it's age ... this is usually caused by using a soil containing too many nutrients, especially the time release type of nutrients ... it could also be caused by too little light ... the best way to learn to grow autos is by reading some of the journals here, especially in the new growers forum ... good luck w/ your grows ...

I already did some research and I'm following some instructions. But first grow is always a first grow right? The expectations are high, the patience low, and in someway we create affection for our plant...

UPDATE: my soil pH meter arrived and already tested it. It's between 6.5 ~ 7. For the last 2 days I'm giving her only filtered water and a third node shows up with 5 fingers leaves I guess. The new leaves appear to be fine (without the burns) even on the same light/distance. Maybe it was some kind of nut burn or something like that.

...pH is okay, so keep feeding her,... she does look stunted, so don't expect much size improvement, as bloom isn't far away at this age,... that food, it's 1-1-1? That's very weak, if so,... that soil is another unknown, as far as how rich it is,.. overly rich soil will cause stunting as well,....can you tell us what's in the soil, from the label on the bag?

I guess my plant is going fine excepts the fact that is growing slow (the size of it is like ~ 1 week behind the other ones I see here in the forum with the same age). It´s now with 20cm tall. I guess the most important thing about this slow growing it's because I'm giving her too little light.

Pics with 30 days old:

Things I've learned:

1 - Never spill water over leaves and turn the lights on (this is for sure the cause of the tip of leaves burned); Never happened again;
2 - Leave the lights at least 15cm ~ 20cm from the plant (even if it's LED); I'm getting like 9000lux measured from LED to my bottom of the confined space where my plant is;
3 - Do never use any foliar nut on veg; For sure the leaves that I've tried foliar are some kind of burned and have stopped growth; Only new nodes are fine and growing;
4 - Like everyone says here: do not overwater; Less is better; I'm now giving her water/feed like every 2 days and never too much;
5 - Never leave the seedlings without light; (Mine stretched too much looking for light);
6 - I made a lot of little holes on the vase to get more air to the plant;
7 - I get a soil ph probe and a water ph probe now; Feeding with 6.0 ~ 6.5 ph.

Things I'm concerned right now:

1 - The smell; Even with few leaves it's start to smell off and my wife are complaining to me (she doesn't like mj); I think the smell is great kkk, but... I'm little worried about the smell when it start to flower...

Update: 37 days old ~ 30cm tall - first sign of pistils.

- Added a 15W 2700k CFL and a 65W 6500k CFL to the main 50W LED 6500k.
- The smell issue is resolved: bought a Glade Oil (Apple smell) and leave it near my plant.

If anything you may have nute burn. I think they look great. Check your PH/PPM next water also, sometimes the smallest things give the worst headaches.

.. :smoking:-looking much better, mate! Some points: yes, the so called lensing burn from water, or nute solutions can happen under strong point source lighting, like HPS/MH, even LED,... fluoro's are okay for that at least, but things should be dry by lights out regardless; Foliar is only bad when done wrong,.. truth is, it's a very common and excellent method for feeding plants across the many industries, not just MJ,...also perfect for treating nute' defciencies,... key things are reducing the concentration of nute's, using a water spreader/wetting agent (critical!),... and knowing when and where to do it to avoid potential burning and mold issues,... this is a very good method to learn, and has applications for pest control too! At some point, I'll try to write up a tutorial on foliar spraying, so folks can get the basics down and have a very useful skill to turn to when needed,... :thumbsup:

Yeah... I did foliar wrong because: my plant was so small and I think no need of feeding yet and I did without diluting with water, just bought it and spray it :) The leaves became brown in like a day. Maybe like you told, the foliar is good to treat deficiences, and mine doesn't show any defficience (soil nutes will be the way so).

Like others first growners: I guess I need more patience. My plant will not get bigger flooding it with nutes ;)
