I've had great success with the paper towel in a plastic bag method of germination, stick it on top of my tent or any warm place for a night or 2 and into their 11ltr regular (old choice) now using Air Pots- as an experiment & heard good things about them. I was going to t Any seeds i've put straight in as seeds haven't done too well... never popped.
I always water in the bath, tho is is a pain in the arse esp when they reach 3ft!
I think 2 to be starting off with is grand, 4 is a lot of work as you'll be watering / feeding more regularly on coco than soil.
I've got 3 on the go atm, a Caramella from Expert Seeds (had her last feed yesterday i'm hoping, keeping an eye on the trichs) (18inches hugh)
A Royal Queen Seeds Quick one which is me 3ft El Monstro, and a Big Buddha seed that is growing at a fast rate in her air pot. (4 weeks) I'm trying to get a constant grow going so i don't have to meet people I don't like and give them money.
I'm using canna in coco coir as well. Did you get rhizo, cannazym, pk 13/14 or boost? I handed out for em all.
I'm using RO water and in my 1st grow had nothing but deficiencies, as I was using 5ltr Tesco water and had no clue about EC.
I was also sold a ph pen you can buy on eBay for about a tenner for e45, and it was useless, so my first attempt di produce 1oz between 2 severely nute burned (they gave me the wrong Dutch Pro soil nutes, rather than coco, and i being a newbie etc...
So canna nutrients, a level teaspoon of epsom salts in R.O. water, a decent PH meter (I reccommend the HM 80 or 200- ye I know they are pricey, but I really wished I'd bought one back last August and maybe i'd have had some decent xmas bud instead of airy 5/10 buds that came off plants that were in such a state I would't photo them!)
I'm using one clip on 9* fan, but buying another stand up one tomorrow, the air flow is suffering as they get bigger. I'm using a 300w (60x 5w)Mars Hydro Led, upgraded and with much better results than some nameless 300w led. There is a difference in brightness- the mars-hydro is brighter, yet not so purple.
As for your venting, I'm pretty new too, i'm running a fan in(covered by a pop-sock as i have pets and don't want hairs or beasties going in that way) and opening the tent a few times a day in a v warm room and getting the de-huey to get the humidity down, but using 'passive' out take- took the tent 'windows' off so there is just mesh. I'm here mostly 24/7 (joys of unemployment) so I keep an eye on them. Not to be confused with touching them all the time like I did last time, by the time they were ready they were barely sticky. Basically I did most things wrong, and it was a huge learning curve. Have my eye on a cheap out-line (inline?) fan on a local ads site for 30 quid, and have some ducting. Lucky I'm growing in a DR60 in my ensuite shower so I guess I can duct out thru there?
