hi, new to growing in general and I got some autoflower seeds (jock horror) was curious as to whether or not its possible to have a "mother" if these seeds auto switch to flowering? if so how Is it done?

You can't keep an Auto as a mother because there is no way to control the veg time, hence the Auto. They will flower under any light schedule. If you're wanting a mother plant, then you need Photo-sensitive strains. Good luck. :smokebuds:
