I just ordered some Nirvana Northern Lights Auto. I guess what the reason for me posting is cause I was wondering if anyone has grown these or knows anything about this strain. I knoticed some brilliant pink hues close to the top of the cola and was wondering here it is my stupid question for the day. Is there a way to focus on the colors and make more of them by using some kind of natural additive thatt maybe will enhance color or bring them out more??? I wouldn't mind getting this one close to the original picture from the add

My first grow was these beans so satisfying to grow check my journal (it's missing the harvest picks im afraid but got well over an ounce off her just with CFL's) can't help with the additives question, but the colours off mine where beautiful...

Good luck

Hey man, if you look closely at the picture the pink hue is just from the LED lighting above the plant. As far as I know there is no additive for enhancing colour but there are a few alternate methods to grow some colourful beauties! First and easiest method is choose a strain which has colourful genetics, things crossed with blueberry generally have the potential to produce purple/blue tints. If you check out my first grow journal its a Northern Lights crossed with Blueberry and I managed to get some nice colour on her. There are a lot of strains out now that are bred primarily with bag appeal in mind with amazing colours, sweet seeds have some nice options for red/purple/almost black buds. I'm growing a Nirvana Northern Lights right now on day 40 and theres no sign of colour yet, but she is in a tiny 16oz pot so not expecting much from her.
With all that in mind you can help the colours come through on your leaves with lower grow room temperatures, obviously not cold like a fridge because that can stunt growth, but it's proven that cooler temps encourage the colouring to show up - easier to do with LEDs as apposed to HPS.
Kinda rambled on there but I hope some of it helped..one last thing: always check out grow journals when choosing a strain, they will give you a much more accurate idea of what your plant will look like compared to the breeder's image - very often they're edited to look very appealing.

I am growing this strain currently. I love em but as far as color there is no purple or pink. I suppose some could develop in cooler temps but I have no clue becausemy tent is hot. These are great plants... Give'em light, water and food and WAM! Buds! Good luck and I will be watching!!!

I am also growing Nirvana NL, mine a just 3 days old. If like other Nirvana strains I've grown they will produce the goods.

I will put up some pix soon.

:High 5:

Thanks guys I will be checking out your treads and pics. I started what was sold to me as autos and I stuck them in pots 90 days ago. Lol. They turned out to be photos and I have about 20 or so days before they are even thinking of being done. I'll be starting the NL beans on the first, hopefully if they get here in time. Once again thanks for all the input.

Bg, here's a bud shot from a couple days ago under the HPS light. uploadfromtaptalk1382285405440.jpg

I grew those for my first grow. They were the autos and i had a journal. I had no experience and very little resources but managed to get close to a ounce off each of my 3. The smell of them were great and everyone i let try some came back and asked for some more. LOL. They are not purple, as stated above, it is the LEDs. They have more of an orange hair color and a bright green that gives great bag appeal. You WILL NOT be disappointed :P

edit: Here is a link to my grow. Its not the best but has some pictures and good info/help from others. https://www.autoflower.org/f44/first-grow-ever-northern-lights-af-16885.html
