Wow, thats really impresive growth for 42watts man.

I wonder how having 2 25 watt bulbs would do in there.

I'm with Neko on the higher wattage light's. the info I've read say's 23w cfl's give the most bang for the buck. their equivalent to a 100w incandesant . you might try 1 6500 k and 1 2700 k since they are showing sex.it will give them more spectrum.but keep an eye on the heat. I figure if 3 14w = 180w then 2 23w = 200w. in theory of course but more light is alway's better! ;)

if it does start getting a bit hot in there take a fan and have it blowing on the bulbs a lot of heat will stay around the bulbs so the fan just helps to move it.:goodluck:

so much this

here is my micro grow with only 2 x 40w and 1 23w so a total of only 103w. without the fans it would be a furnace in there but the fans keep the temps right down.

Cfls you do not go buy equivalent watts. With wat you have you get flowering will not have dense buds. I say get more lights if you want to maximize you flowering potential.
Also so its clear, There is no way 2 23w cfl bulbs equal 200 watts or everybody would be using cfls to grow their herb.incandescent light can't grow canna plants so u can't go by the equivalent of a light that wouldn't work with wat your doing.

absolutely correct Magic. that's why I added the "in theory" ;)

Hey Dudes. Thanks for all the support and advice! Y'all are awesome. Unfortunately, due to an extremely low budget after buying the box and the beans, these are the lights I will have to settle with. I agree with you all that 42 watts won't do much justice to the final yield, but it is what it is. Hopefully in future grows I will be able to give MJ some better lighting.

Also, I do have the arctic cool breeze fan blowing on the lights, and it works wonders. My temps are steady 78-83, which is a little warm, but they don't seem to mind.

Also Also, I figured out that the foam in front of the fan I thought of as a carbon filter was just shipping protection. It started to get a little stanky so I put in the real carbon filter and can't smell a thing!

Peace Out dudes, and stay lifted.

Im not sure what country your in, but if your in the states (not in rural areas). Then you can go to a local hardware, and or department store.

Walmart has a 3 pack of 24 6500k CFL's in a 3 pack for like 5 bucks or something like that. 4 pack of 26wat 2700k for similar price. Give or take a dollar or 2. Its the CFL's I was using for my CFL grows.
If not, totally understandable my friend.
Its cool thought man. Your getting some herb, and herb period is always better then being dry and or risking hunting down a good connection. Even if you find a connection. There are a lot of over priced stuff out there.

Your doing a solid with what you got my man.Which is badass if I dont say so myself.

I kind of figured this. But like Neko says, pretty impressive growth for such wattage! For me, 10,000 lumens is the target I try and get to. I grew a single ShortStuff original (Much like the original LowRyder) with a 10,000 lumens C5 panel hanging just inches above the plant. My grow partner cut it down about 10 days early (I was so MAD!) but it was the shortest and fattest plant I have ever seen. I can't remember the grams but I would say around 50 or so.
