Hello I'm so glad there's a site dedicated to auto flowering iv tried every where else and mostly got haters and nay-sayers. Right here's what I'm gonna be working with for my first grow iv got a closet 2ft deep 3.5ft long and about 5ft high lined with matt white paper a 15W blue and red spectrum LED panel. A 125W blue spectrum cfl and a 250W red spec cfl. I'm trying to do stuff on the kind of cheap as don't want to spend a fortune on my first attempt. Its gonna be grow of two NYC-Diesel Autos apparently a 8-9week finisher in 3gln pots of soil and that's what iv got worked out so far could anybody give me a bit of help. As id even love the satisfaction of a single fat blunt of weed I grew myself. Peace love and light fellow stoners

Hey What's up Doc.

Glad you could make it to our neck of the woods. There are many great growers here, a lot do soil, as do I. I think you have the beginnings of a great set-up.

Do you have your seeds already, have you already started them? and what kind of soil are you using? that should start us off in the right direction. Others will pop in, as the thread moves along. Great luck, and I will be back to see what you put up,

Later Doc,

and hey even my first grow, I got over an ounce per plant.

Eek

thanx guys

Well I'm very limited on resources so iv got some gd qualitypotting compost, fine gravel from a lake side. And some home made kitchen waste compost. I'm goin to try n find some good nutes any suggestions bear in mind money, I can invest maybe another 100quid. Iv just placed one ncy deseil auto seed carefully betweebn some damp paper in a baggy on my windowsill and going to purchase some more perhaps anotherstrain but I'm really into the idea of autos. I'm just here to soak up as much knowledge as I can. Can you start grow diaries on here?

My kinda thread! First and foremost, you already have your lights nice and ready - have you done a dry run to test your temperatures? Run all of your lights on and see what the temperature hits, make sure it's not some crazy amount before you put all your plants in there. Don't run the high watt CFLs before your plant has at least two sets of leaves, not including cotyledons IMO. As well, I would keep them at a nice height the first 2-3 days so the plant can adjust to them.

What potting compost are you using? Do you know the name / brand / NPK rating of it? The home made kitchen waste compost is great, that's microbe breeding world.

You're running a system that's centered around organics pretty much with the compost so I'd get the GH line, it's not organic certified but it won't kill all your microbes either. Here's a link in the UK for them, you may be able to find them cheaper as I'm not familiar with UK hydro shops.

http://www.growell.co.uk/general-hydroponics-flora-nutrients.html

I'd get the grow, bloom and micro. That's 31 pounds or so.

As well, I'd get a pH pen now or when you can. There's one on that site for 40 pounds. That'd leave you with about 30 give or take. I'd get a microbe booster since you're running compost - http://www.growell.co.uk/general-hydroponics-bio-boosters.html Bio Roots from GH would go well with the other nutes.

I haven't used GH but I've read countless threads, testimonials and praise for them. It's the cheapest most efficient nute you can get. It may not have EVERYTHING for the plant, but you definitely get your bang for the buck. There's an organic line, called General Organic which is a bit pricier and I can't seem to find it on the UK shops.

Welcome to AFN, please start a grow journal we'd appreciate it! Any help you need at all or any questions, post them up! Good luck with the grow and hope I was able to help.

Eh I wouldn't think LED and CFLs should over heat it too much. Well iv just started germinating and still waitin on the cfl arriving on Monday so I'll b on LED for a few days anyway. Eh its just a general veg potting mix says ideal for tomatoes peppers that kinda shit no chemical amounts. Well I need to get my cfl leed anyway on Sunday so I'll look into all these nutes uv spoken about, I think I would like to be as natural as you can (growing in a cupboard) and yeah once I figure out how to start one believe me I will I hope my babies are as gorgious as a lot iv seen
