New Grower Noob requires help

Will be starting my first extremely affordable/cheap grow some time soon. The goals are to see the costs of growing vs buying. Just need a few questions answered.

My grow space is very limited. It's 70cm height, 60cm wide and the depth is about 45cm. Is this enough space for one plant? Possibly Think Different or AutoMazar. I will be trying to scrog it and apply other techniques to keep the height down and improve yield.

I already have 300w dual spectrum CFL which I got from a friend for free. Is this also enough for possibly a yield of 40g or more? No other lights are safe enough for me. Live in a pretty troubled area with choppers seeking out crops regularly so the less heat the better hence CFL.

I have painted my grow area with flat white latex paint...since I already had some at home. Is this okay compared to Mylar? Trying to keep costs down.

Also I'm trying to see if it's possible to grow about an ounce or more less than it would cost on the streets. Absolutely looking to spend next to nothing since I have pretty much the minimum requirements of a grow available to me. Kind of a personal experiment to see if a total noob can pull off a decent yield in a cost effective and safe way.

I have some free fem seeds already like Samsara Green Love Potion and Female Seeds White Grapefruit but they're not autos so I'm putting them aside for now for a few quick autos.

All I'm missing is a small clip-on fan and a decent strain for the space I have available with yield being priority. So strain suggestions would be welcome also.

Welcome to our forum.Every thing you say about your setup seems fine for a larger plant like think diff or mazar.They both give good yields and some really good smoke.You can also check our threads on smoke reports on our home page and get some more ideas there.Feel free to ask any questions you may have and we'll be glad to help.

Keep that bulb cool and you'll be fine. You can get 1/2 a gram a watt if you grow well. Welcome to AFN and good luck

I used CFL for a while man.not a 300 but 200,250,125W.in that space you could do two but youd have to keep them a little small.or go a bit bigger and get one plant that'll totally give ya 40 Grams man.:dance2:

Latex is good,but imo Flat white water based paint with two to three coats is best if ya dont have Mylar or some such thing.you'll get about 70% return on the reflective nature of the Flat white paint in general anyway.so thats awesome.

Ya know what they say man..if its free its fer me!! lol congrats on the light.make sure its clean,bulb,reflector, and you dont hear any larger part(s) rattling around from a damaged internal ballast.

Depends how much you spend on weed? IMO you will end up with better from the street but! takes time and a little outlay at first.

The CFL bulb is brand new with the hanger. There is no reflector though and having assessed my grow space it will be hard to get one in there. I will probably doctor some sort of reflector eventually out of a large metal can or something if I reckon it will fit well.

An oz around here will cost you £120 and they're all crooks and into bigger things than just selling weed. It's not that I can't afford to spend a little more because I can. It's just a personal little experiment of mine to see how much I can produce without spending much at all. In fact I have everything as mentioned including growing medium, pots, light, grow space, scrog net etc. All I'm missing is a quiet clip-on fan and a decent strain. So I'll probably spend about £20 max on my grow initially and having worked out electric costs it will probably come to around £32-36 for 8 weeks running 24-7.

One more question guys. If anyone has grown Think Different/AutoMazar what's a good light cycle? 24 hours on? That's what I'm planning on.

Will eventually start a grow journal hopefully.

Lol, yea that one is pretty friggen perfect. Its way better than the ones i have/had. I was exactly like you when i started, but it gets so addicting, you start just spending any spare cash on this and that, next thing you know you have an led rdwc grow with a reverse osmosis filtration system.... i think crack maybe less addictive

Hey supernaan, welcome, what nutrients are you planning on using? Do you have a ph pen for your feed water?? What is your plan as far as the smell? You didn't mention whether you had these items yet. Candy Kush from Auto Seeds is a good strain too. Looking forward to your progress!! karma to ya!
