New Grower NOOBIE - need GUIDE ON GROW EQUIP

Cannabis Seeds
That's the finished, trimmed and dry result from one plant. That's what you end up with once everything is done. There are 28 grams in an ounce. Two ounces is 56 grams. It's a good idea to get familiar with the metric system when growing. It's easy, everything is based on increments of ten.

i smoke kush everyday , skywalker og from one connect whos been selling 20 a gram for years idk about you but in california 20 a gram doesnt really sell to street people , unless they know its some fucking fire!! they use clinincs .. ive had ounces in possesion , and also one pound , im very familiar with weights of marijuana i just dont see why somepeople get 1 ounce off a plant , and others get 3 ounces , like

Hey there sbkush. Hope you're well. I see that you are ready to jump on in and get started. Awesome stuff. But before you go to buying hundreds of dollars worth of gear expecting results that you see on Youtube, I highly suggest studying and reading up on as much as you poasibly can. I have some really informative links down in my signature.
As far as different folks getting different yields, that is normal. There is no one way to grow Canna. Everyone has their own ways of doing things and that involves varying results of course.
Your grow and yields are going to depend on SO many aspects that it's pretty difficult to narrow it down to one setup that is the best. That takes well spent time and research and knowing your personal limits/space available, etc.
I wouldn't recommend trying to grow that many planta on your very first real try. I know you say your step father will help, but growing Canna is not cakewalk. And Autos are attuned in their own way too.

I would start with a really simple setup and get that tuned in and all before trying to grow 7+ plants in Hydro. IMHO Hydro isn't the best to learn on from what I see.
I would go with just a couple plants to start. Simple mix, simple lights, simple nutes amd if you start that way, your chances of success are in your favor.
These cats pulling insane yields are well versed in growing. If not, then they just got lucky, and I wouldn't bank on luck.
You need solid material to read that will give you a grasp on the basics.
This will make it a lot easier on you as well as the members here helping you out. All of that is right here at AFN. Everything is sectioned out accordingly and pretty easy to find. I hope this helps and take care. We're glad to have you here at the AFN and want to help as much as we can. Teaching is a two way process though. Peace and hit this with me. :smokebuds:

What environment does your stepfather have experience growing in? Soil, hydro? What kind of set up? Indoor or outdoor? If we could offer advice based on his experience that'd work a bit better. It's all about understanding the way things work. The biggest differences between photos and autos is there's nothing needed to induce the bloom phase, it happens naturally at a somewhat scheduled time in the plants genetics. Usually at a certain week. Also their sensitivity in nutrients, while a feed bottle might say "feed 5ml per 1 gallon of water" with an auto you'd feed less to see if the strain is touchy or not. The reason for this is the plant will keep it's internal schedule regardless of whether or not the condition is optimal.

As a new grower, it's better to keep your expectations in line with what other new growers are growing. If you set your expectations high, you'll be harder on yourself as you grow. I say this from personal experience! Your thread has been moved to the new grower's forum and I suggest looking over some of the journals here in this forum to get an idea of where to start. A lot of components go in to yield, not just the set up.

Glad you're in it for the long haul and look forward to helping out as much as we can!

he had 3 fat ass!! plants outdoor and they were maybe 3 ft tall each , and had umbrellas over them sometimes so the helicopters couldnt see , but my weird ass mom killed them and put a plastic bag over them in the sun when some inspection guy came -__- the leaves were all black burned gone .. smh .. but they were big i never seen what he did . even sometimes he poored beer on them :O but whever he did he would yield around october , starting from like march

i read so much about growing, LETS GET THAT STRAIGHT i just wanted advice on the best grow setup i could have .. and what would creat the most potency from expierence but yes i do read all day about cannabis

There are many good, but no "best" setups, and potency depends largely on genetics of the strain you're growing. You're going to have to do the research for yourself as only you can decide which setup is best for your situation. No one here can or will create your setup for you, but they will answer specific questions. If you come with specific questions like "hey, I only have 2 feet by two feet to grow in, should I get a 400 or 250 watt hps for that?" Those kinds of questions people can and will answer quickly.

Now, your stepfather may have grown nice plants outside but that's about as different from indoor hydro as it gets. Hydro can be a very unforgiving and difficult way to grow for a beginner. Some people do start in hydro, but they usually have an experienced mentor on hand. In general, people are more likely to be successful if they grow in soil the first time. Not trying to tell you what to do, just sharing my :2cents:

:peace: and good luck on your first run!

LOL!
poored beer on them

In a since that would actually help in that kind of scale in an outdoor grow, the beer in essence could actual fuel those micro besties in the soil and the alcohol could deter some pests such as root aphid?.... just going out on a complete limb.... there waaaay better ways to get those results however though.

i read so much about growing, LETS GET THAT STRAIGHT

Hard to sort the material and methods, huh? This is the place to learn about autos for sure though!

Start itemizing a list of wants as you read and see what others do.
Start another list of Tips and Tricks that you notice others' are doing that you can reference yourself.
Pick a few strains you like and our breeders are A+ for sure and all strains are tested and selected to eliminate weaknesses

Suggestion: Plant a couple or so of some Photo type canabis and let it Veg. while you play with your autos.

Fact or at least MY Serious Opinion: If you like variety esp. autos will yield you much more or the same in the same amount of time as a photo once you understand in practice what others are preaching here. They have their quarks and have a whole different temperament than photos.

If you are trying to run a commercialized industry.... find one photo plant...dial it in to a science and specific schedule with mother and clones and produce and don't deviate. No variety though and much more equipment needed for all the stages etc.
