No i I used a: Nature Ph-Meter Digitaal.
You just stick it in the ground and it will display the PH value.
Is this the wrong way of getting the PH valeu?

..is it a skinny metal probe type? If so, those are of dubious value for accuracy,... only one of that type I trust is Accurate 8 by Control Wizard... same priciple, just more robustly built and better tuning,...
