What a drag. Started chopping down a AK 47 today. Well I cleaned 7-8 nice side buds and I find a seed. Got to looking around and found a few sets of nuts. Damn woman. But no seeds to speak of so I went and chopped the top. Was 15 inches long and a bit over 4 inches thick. Hard like a rock. You could have stood up on it. So I break it down and I found a few more nuts and they had popped. Well she switched sides on me but no more seeds. But what I did find was mold. The SOB weighed 10 oz. Man that pisses me off. I had been drooling over it for some time. I have never grown autos before so I followed Muddys guide for when to harvest. Sorry Muddy I wish I would have picked when I thought I should have. These are a little over 100 days. They are still green after cutting nutes over 3 weeks ago. I do not know how long they would have gone but they will all be getting the ax today. They have lost all the good smell and now are like skunk. Did a test bud a couple days ago. Very little high but good pain relief. Trics are still cloudy. Makes me mad by not going with what I feel I should have done. Muddy you owe me a couple of O's. Just kidding but it sucks to loose that much. I thought this auto thang would be easy. I flipped 5 photo plants in the time these were running. Someone say something and make me feel better. Now what will I try?

Photos are way easier than autos. Does that help? New growers get recommended autos because they are always in a hurry- not because they are easy. Newbie gets online says "I want to build x grow room with x light and pull 2 lbs in 3 months!!! What strain? And everyone goes- try autos, they get done quick.

Anyway- I almost never let one go past 70 days, but I don't grow a ton of autos and not a ton of strains of them either. Meanwhile- arent you glad your one step closer to dialing them in... I think are an absolute hoot to grow- and while I've never had one get me quite so "high" as a photo haze they are absolutely plenty potent- never any question that I'm totally spaced. Hahaha. Can't wait to see your next go round.

Hi Coolbreeze. Ya. On a photo I would have caught it. The 6 plants I grew are so bud dense that I did not see them. The first AK I chopped last weekend is now dry and made a little over 4 oz. This was even bigger. I am not hurting for bud thank goodness but I know to pay better attention. I just hope my Cream Caramel is ok. I will be chopping it all today.

Oh ya. Please no one take this as blaming anyone. I was just messing with Mr Muddy. Just goes to show you go with your gut. I tend to be like Muddy and grow things longer then most so I can get the most in the pain and sleep quality's out of my stuff. So I have seen my share of Hermies. So if anyone thinks I was blaming Muddy I was not. Just a poke at him. Just a learning experience. Carry on. I am still concerned about the finish time. I will make a post with my grow data and see what or if I did something wrong. I know you guys can lead my to the right path.

Sorry to hear this but the only one to blame is the person in the mirror!:vibe:

What were you feeding? And how much N for how long more to the point...

I find autos grow like an equatorial sativa in a lot of ways- or a least some of them. Basically they have a timeline that they respond to, and environmental factors that they respond to more so than photoperiod. So- they might think they want to go 90 or so days, but when the environment throws em a bone, they use it. That female isn't concerned about much other than pumping out enough resin to really trap some pollen, and not outgrowing her food and water- which would leave her unable to finish. That's why you see them flower earlier and finish earlier when root bound. If nutrients and space are abundant- they don't ever get the signal to "finish up"

Back off the feed sooner next time, o try a smaller pot, or both. I do 2 and 3 gallon pots, and those little fuckers tick right along like a bus with a schedule to keep. I did some outdoors in ak in a five gallon bucket and I thought they'd never get done- but they did. And quick once that temp started dropping fast.

I don't know anything about your grow- so none of this may matter- but do think in terms if environmental factors that will tell your girls to wrap it up...

As for pm and mold- all the usual advice right- no late foliar feeds, lower rh, increased air flow etc. glad you got plenty of smoke yet.

Hi Guys.

Soylent Green Ya. If you read my post above yours you will see I blamed no one but my self. Did not know if you read it.

Coolbreeze. The N was cut off after week 6. Then bloom nutriants only. I grew these in 1 gallon smart pots. All were 38-42 inchs tall. That does not include pot. Plant only.

stylez. I did not take oics. Is is like they were photos. They never yellowed up and act like they were done or getting close. I even cut the bllom feed off 3 weeks ago and are just now starting to yellow.

what is your avg. humidity?

Hi GA. It was 40-55. I took a knife and cut it like it was a apple. It was just to dense I am thinking unless it was grown in the desert.

Autos can be a bit of a different monster when it comes to growing cannabis:smokebuds: you pretty much have to stay on top of them, not much time to fix problems. I love autos though, keep me with a bit more room and its nice to have new smoke in 65 days:stylez rasta smoke: don't give up on Autoflowers, big things are happening with themHop digity
