Cheers

Am I right in thinking "Andrews Liver Salts" are much the same as" Epsom Salts" ?
as the label says Magnesium Sulphate. ta, eP

 Lefty', that's the stuff! I believe it's called treacle as well, at least in the UK, maybe elsewhere too,... Blackstrap is the most refined type; it has the highest nutrient conc., and lowest sugar conc., just what you need! it's fast acting too, since the nute's are in a chelated (more readily absorbed) form.... Since you're doing a soil drench, you can go 1T/ gal,... all my girls get this treat once a week! The soil microbes get a big boost from this, and in turn, so will the plants.... Molasses can be used in a foliar spray, with some cautions, but you're in bud now, and it's not worth the risk,... *** Epsom salts are MgSO4, good stuff for fixing Mg and Sulphur defc.,... *** yeah, H-lime can do that, but you just have to be very careful about diluting it way down,...looking it up here, as I've not used it before,.... Ah! The canna-bible here says 1tps/gal,... problem is, finding a small quantity of it, not a 4 kilo bag!! :roflcry: -let us know what you try mate!

Cheers yawl, eP.

Well, looks like that in the evening girls gonna get molasses, almost teaspoon per 3 Liters, + a pinch of Epsom salts.
Probably next watering I should introduce bit of nutes (1/4-1/3). There are small burned tips from N. toxicity, but as well there are some yellowing of older leaves, seems like Nitrogen def.

And silica every other. I've read silica interferes with calcium. So, that's why I began using a small amount of Epsom in every watering).

I see, but why silica, for what reasons?

By the way, Waira, what could be the best phosphorous source?

At the moment, as I wrote, i don`t have access to some speciallised mj nutes, but only available is amazing strong - P 22%, P2O5 52%, K 28%, K20 34%

I see, but why silica, for what reasons?

Silica seems to harden the plant, making leaves more leathery, stems tougher, etc. Seems to make the plant more tolerant of temperature extremes, resistant to pests, etc. Downside may be that it's harder to LST/supercrop a silica-fed plant (due to tougher stems?).

Wasn't trying to suggest it would help your situation. Just explaining why I alternate calmag+ every other watering, and why I began using Epsom salt (magnesium only).

I didn`t know about silica role. Well, in my case, it looks like that I shouldn`t give too much of that - I do some minor LSt and tying/bending, so too hard stem is not really a gain.
But I understood that its not solution in given case, but thanks anyway for searing useful info ;)

:Sharing One: Hi Lefty- Yes, that is pretty concentrated! What exactly is the name of this fertilizer you are referring to? Maybe I can look it up to get more info,...If we're talking P-22, K-28 in a synthetic salt type fertilizer (as opposed to something organic, like guanos), I'd start with 1/4 strength a couple times in a week to see how they react, and then if they respond well, up it to 1/2 strength,....
Si is very good stuff, and does many thing beneficial for the plant! Here's a great info link: http://www.cannabis.info/UK/library/5474-the-marvels-of-silicon/

....Don't worry about Ca blocking by Si, the conc. level for that to happen is huge,.... :smoke:
