New Grower Nutrient mixing and EC Question

them dark marks look like phos def to me but muddy knows best. upward curved leaves look like heat stress or low humidity with slight potassium def.

Thanks for that faded. I was wondering if that was the start of a phos deficiency. The temperatures have been between between 24-26 C and 17-19 C lights off. My humidity was around 60% during veg and is now down to about 45%. Could these values still be responsible for upward curved leaves? I was also wondering whether the EC should be coming out higher than it's going in?

Not to hijack another thread, but....

I've got a question regarding this, as I think I've been sorta dorking it up thus far... I use GH/Botanicare stuff, but I add GH Florablend/Botanicare Aquashield, THEN I add my 3-part, THEN I add Cal/Mag and silica, THEN I add Floralicious+.. I let it bubble for an hour or 2, then I check my pH.. I usually only have to adjust a tiny-tiny bit, but I'm using distilled water that has lately been relatively neutral pH.. I often find though that after about 24hrs, the pH creeps up a little, so I drain a gallon or so of my nute mix, add some pH DOWN (depending on how much it crept up, 10-15 drops from a 5ml pipette) to the gallon, and then pump back into the reservoir to bubble some more. I go back after feedings and check the pH again, usually only went up a 0.1-0.3..

Is this way off?? I seem to be getting decent results, but if I'm doing something wrong, I could only imagine how that could make my grow better..

So here's a little update from this evening and things definitely appear tonne getting worse! More of the leaves seem to be affected on 2 of the plants. The other 2 are absolutely fine.

Any ideas what's going on here? I'd really appreciate some help as things have been going good and I don't want to mess things up now. Thanks everyone :)

I'm a bit stumped myself. That sure looks like nutrient lockout. I think the root of your problem could be using the standard pH Perfect in coco. Since coco is more akin to hydro, both P and K are unavailable to the plant at 6.2, which is where you say the pH is at before you add any pH down. According to AN you shouldn't be using pH down in conjunction with the pH Perfect nutrients. I saw this myself when I tried using pH Perfect with my tap water, which was both high pH and EC. My plants looked very similar to yours. Now that I'm using RO water I'm not having those issues anymore. You might consider switching to the AN coco version of pH Perfect or go with another nutrient line that will allow you to use pH down to adjust your feeds.

Thanks for getting back to me Muddy, I've got to admit I'm totally stumped! Do you think it could be phosphorus lockout or could there be a few different issues? What you've said would make perfect sense (no pun intended)! The only thing is I grew 4 dark devils on my first grow using AN's pH perfect and had no issues whatsoever. I do have the canna line of nutrients specifically for coco so I'll use them next time instead and see how things progress. When you had your problem were you able to rectify it and did it have an effect on the final outcome? I didn't know what steps to take to try and correct the lockout so today I've given both of them 6 litres each of pH'd water as well as a litre of half strength feed. Do you think this was a wise idea? Thanks so much for your help :) Cat

Took me long enough to figure out AN means Advanced Nutrients. That is what you mean? Must be dense here. I thought it stood for Autoflower Net and you were referencing house brand info (you are admin after all!)

ok?... AN = Advanced Nutrients.

Subbed in this is interesting. Muddy sounds like he knows whats going on, ive had a similar issue due to ph lockout. It takes no time at all for them to seize up when you screw the ph up enough ive found. Best of luck.
