I'm having a little(potential) nutrient problem and i suspect spoilage is the culprit. I'm using the technaflora kit and I went to feed at full strength last night and the ppm of the mix was way off. The water tested out at 0 ppm before I added the nutrients. The feeding schedule states that the ppm of the final solution should be @1100 ppm. The ppm of the mixed solution I mixed last night was @1740 ppm. The company specs also state the Ph of the mix should be 6.2 before its added to the water but I had much different results. The Ph of my water before the mix was added was 6.5 but the mix dropped it to 4.3.

The kit has some age on it. I bought it right before I found this place and used it on my first grow but stopped using it when the first plant turned out to be male. So its been opened and sitting since then.

Should I discontinue using this product? I suspect some contaminants got into the bottles and has grown who knows what.

I would check with the manufacturer and find out what the shelf life of their products is. To me, it just sounds like the solution was too strong, resulting in the high ppm and low pH.

Thanks for the reply muddy. The ppm of the solution was to high because the "sugar daddy" has spoiled. Stuff has a long shelf life unopened but once opened ya better use it up within 6 months.
