Ocean Forest: no cut

While I have your attention, is 8-9 plants 60cm - 1.2m too many under a 1000 watt HID with 2x CFL 40W. I grow 100% for myself, but want 100% potential, but love variety. If it is, I am IN LOVE with my new hobby and will buy another tent.... LOL....but serious....

The accurate 8 meter works best, and you could run 8 autos, But the question is what autos?? some can get very big!!! this would be strain dependent!

and the size pot you use..

I would just keep them I the soil and if you suspect a problem than flush the soil there in. If you want to use the ocean forest but it seams to be too hot you could cut it with a seed starting mix 2-1 to dilute it next time and see how it works for ya.

I used the happy frog for years and liked it for autos. Its mild but not too mild. PH was always correct, it never burned any thing but it compacts over time so I switched to the roots soil which I like better. I ran the happy frog strait out the bag though and the roots I modify with manure and lime.

Right on. In hind sight I overlooked Happy Frog. I ran low on FFOF and I needed to pot some seedling today. I had a 10 lb. brick of CoCo coir laying around. I read up on the CoCo, soaked it up and added 30% perlite; I then cut the OF I had left 50/50.

The CoCo coir has amazing texture water soaking and can be reused after a good flushing. Going forward, I may use CoCo/Perlite. This way I have more control on my nutes and can cater them to strain.

:toke:Hey Moon-- those skinny probe type meters are notoriously inaccurate, I have tried a few makes, and none work well enough to rely on... the Accurate 8 operates on the same principle, but is more robustly built and better calibrated,....BTW, they are only for in-soil testing, never liquids! You'll still need a pH meter for measuring pH in solutions,...be sure to get calibration solutions for it, and storage too,...

....misting is fine, and RO is best, as long as the RH in there isn't too high to begin with,... Now, I'm am outdoor grower mainly, so my lighting skills aren't great, but 1000w in a tent that size is near overkill! CFL are utterly redundant,... In fact, what are you Temp's and RH in there? That light is a damn furnace for heat output! .... Definitely, use Ca-Mg when using RO water; there's no CaCO3 in there, either to buffer pH or add Ca++ for the plants,...

.... harsh diagnosis brother :bighug:.. we have several MS folks here,... one cat you should look up is Eyes of Fire, an excellent organic grower, and dude is a total gas!

.... HF OF, it's all a gamble it seems,.. some folks get okay bags, others get shwagg! I tested, with the A8, 4 bags of both OF and HF at two different shops, different times,... all tested in the low 5's pH!! --- that is instant FUBAR,...so, beware!

Sounds good. I like the full organic method my self. I have been working on organics with just add water with pretty good results. My current plant I have has only had water and will be chopped in 2 weeks. Nothing is simpler than that. Probably not going to be as large of a harvest or as potent as a coco grow but the flavor and smoothness of the smoke should be top notch. You could also make your own nutrients by learning how to make teas which would give you even more control over your feedings and allow you to be a little more targeted in your feeding.

I have heard that from a few people. I have been lucky with it I guess. I used it for maybe 3 years on a ton of plants and never had happy frog mess a grow up. I have had the problem with the FFOF and the roots though.

What do you mean? I saw the add on the webpage for my probe. The companies webpage said "used by professional farmers?" LOL!!!

Right on! I was already too far in when I felt the need to go organic. I believe I am going CoCo/Perlite/Organic Nutes next time.

Well I am going to follow and watch.
