Here is my current SLH, SUPER LEMON HAZE. It's a sativa dominate photoperiod which would easily outgrow a tent in height. I've grown this strain 4 times, this is the first time trellising it. The pot size is 20 gallon, it's 20 inches across, the bush is 24 inches across, approx 18 inches in height at day 48 of veg, I just switched to flower the day before yesterday. I have no cut, or topped this plant at all. As you can see I have many tops, and an even canopy to start. I will be having to add a second trellis for the stretch but here is an example of using the techniques I laid out for you with a very stretchy sativa to create a bush, not a Christmas tree.

Great looking plants. Obviously you know your shit. I'll have a look at GML vids. Thanks for the suggestion. And good on you for trying to save your dog when the cost was high.

I have a lot of photos of past grows on my old phone and I can show you every technique I've tried and tested from mainlining (photoperiods), super cropping, sog grows, etc. What I've learned is that it's important to know many techniques so that you can adapt to the particular plant you're growing. I've had plants outgrow my tent(s) many times lol. An example of needing to know your plant is Mainlining. For photoperiods it is awesome, BUT you need to have a plant that stacks buds well. A plant with a lot of internodal stretching isn't going to do well. So trellising would be better for a stretchy plant. So that is important. Being able to adapt to a plants growth, or picking a stable strain that reports a specific growth so you can game plan how your going to train.

Hopefully this is a simple question and easy to answer.

Since I topped and LST'd and pulled big stems to the outside and they are looking like dominant cola's, what do I do about the little ones in the middle of the plant? There are quite a few of them. Is it better to prune them out now as preflowering bud sites and hopefully the dominant cola's get some benefit from that? Or is it better to leave them and do some leaf tucking etc? I also found on my first grow I could harvest in stages staring with the dominants and then a week or so later do the smaller ones.

There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to growing styles. Perhaps ask yourself why you topped your plant in the first place... When I top plants, its to keep them short and to create more bud sites. So no, im not removing any of the bud sites that get light. I dont leaf tuck.. I just remove any leaves covering bud sites or blocking thw light.. And it doesnt matter when I do it. In nature, if a deer walked by and ate a few leaves off a flowering plant, it would have zero effect. Same with a vegging plant. Plants grow waaayyy more leaves than they need because they plan on loosing a few. Find what works for you. A lot of it is trial and error. If you want is main colas, remove the bud sites.. If you want big and medium sized buds, and/or hash material, don't remove the bud sites.

I'm in Scotland and along with my 315w lec/cdm, i have two AutoCobs from @BigSmo - a 3000K and a 4000K , I've only had them about a month, but I think with what little I've used them, they're excellent and was wondering what cri rating the 3000K cob is .? I have just the 3K over 3 finishing photo plants in a small cupboard- ( a c99 , blueberry twist & a 12" tall ww x bb cutting) as the 4K and 315w lec are in my 3 by 3 tent with auto's at all different ages- i think growing auto's are fun and I like to top n fim etc.. (i have photo plants too.. perpetual)
anyway any info on the 3K AutoCob would be appreciated thanks,
Happy growing
Gaz
