Ok folks here goes. I'm an old phart who used to grow with a friend back in the 70's. Outdoors and mh indoors. Changed jobs and lost contact with all of my old friends, raised 2 kids and bought a farm recently. Hoping to retire in the next few years. I stopped smoking weed about 92. Just had no contacts and got busy. About 6 months ago I saw on the news stories about Colorado and many other states changing. I did some research and things certainly have changed. I had the old Ed Rosenthal book and issues to High Times years ago when it was delivered in brown paper. I'm looking to get back into it just for myself. I ran across af seeds and feminized seeds! LED lights to grow! I'm wanting to learn all of this now. That's why I am here. We knew about sinse, watching the glands change before harvest etc. but wow things have changed. It's an honor to be here! Now the question. Is af as potent as "normal" weed? 45 days seed to weed is just to strange. I'll be setting up a 4x4 led grow. Pre start with 4 ft grow lights.

Welcome to the site! Glad to have you. To my knowledge, there are no 45 day strains, quickest I've ever even heard of is about 57 maybe. A lot of strains can and will go 75-100+ days. Read around and soak up as much as you can.

First off I agree Ohio does suck! haha ! Anyway Welcome to Afn Dandy Randy! I am a bit of a "Hippie" myself. To answer your question about autos , they havent been around all that long and in the past that was the case , However with advancements in breading and the use of fantastiv genetics many Autos are actually as strong or stronger then a lot of the photoperiod suff out there . When selecting autos just be sure to order from credible breeders! I think that Dutch Passion is prolly the best ! However there are a lot of great companies out there. Dina Fem , Joint Dr., Barneys Farm , Big Buddha seeds , and Paradise seeds are just some of those... I have seen the best results when using DinaFem and Dutch Passion on here . I Suggest using Attitude seedbank they have a great selection and also throw in some great freebies. Attitude has really good info and has treated me right ! If you are looking for a more potent strand I would suggest Dutch Passion Think Different, Auto Extreme, Or StarRyder... or Dinafem Critical Jack... I am growing both Crtitical Jack and StarRyder now and it is my first Auto grow I have a thread going on the grow that may help you in some other areas as well... I have a friend who has been growing autos for a while now and I have liked most of what he has grown and he typically grows Dutch Passion or DinaFem . Some of the the seeds you will look at on Attitude will actually have a THC rating on them just click on the picture and most will give you an accurate discription of the plant. AFN is a great resource for all your growing needs ! I am no expert and these are only my opinions . Keep in mind Autos have only been around for around five years as compared to photos that have essentialy been here forever . While there may be photos testing out at 25%+ most are between 14 and 20% also typically Autos have a higher CBD rating wich helps more with pain... https://www.autoflower.org/f44/ Wecome to the forum.Autos are different in there growing needs and need some special care.Do some reading on this thread and any others that you can.There are autos that are as strong or stronger than some photos.Breeding is being done more and more and is leading to some potent varities that finish faster and are excellent for inside growing.You stated a 45 day finish time but that is to short and most autos finish somewhat later than stated from the seed banks.More realalistic is from 65 to 75 average and some larger varieties going longer.Fell free to ask any questions you may have.

Thanks for the info. I read up on the history of the autos and saw a Northern Lights version. Imagine, 30 years ago it was bagseed. I was reading on another site where someone was growing 12/12 with regular seeds and getting buds in 3 months ready to cut. Obviously you can't clone af? Anyway now to do some more looking and decide on an led.
