Old or new? Supplemental light

Hi all, going to add a MH light to go alongside my Platinum P300. I'm not sure if I should go for the Mars II 400 or the old Mars 600. Or even the reflector instead? The old mars 600 has almost double the amount of PAR output (918) as the mars II 400 (530) (even though this would be expected with the wattage), and the reflector has even less, and less effective penetration, which is why I had discounted this one.

Heat isn't a MAJOR issue, right now the room runs' about 2c above ambient. I could push it another 2c but no more.

I wanted to know what the main differences were between the mars and mars II is, and what people's advice would be. Quality of bud is my main concern, and canopy penetration would be pretty useful as it's a jungle in there.

The true watts of Mars 600 is about 275w, it can cover 2'x2.5' grow area, the Mars II is about 170w, the coverage is 2.5'x2.5
The difference between the Mars series and Mars II series are:
1. The Mars 600 don't have IR, but Mars II have.
2. Mars II light have growth and bloom switches, but Mars series don't have.
3. Mars II have stronger penetration

Gone for an old Mars 300. Should be fine for what I need right now. The area is only 1.5x3' anyway !
