I forgot until I just uploaded these photos, that these Mephistos started their lives in the very corner of my photo tent! I was feeling ambitious, and my Mephisto stock has been running low. So I decided to plant some seeds. I popped 1 of each seed into 2 gallon pots of canna coco/ perlite mixed with 1tbsp per gallon of organic dry amendments from Dr earth.
sour stomper
Sweet n sour
Gold glue
Blue toof
Double grape
I have grown all of these in various mediums and love them so I wanted more!

Good work, but as a seasoned Coco grower I can tell you that Coco is not ideal for dry ammendments. You might have ok results in Veg, but the Dy ammendments and Coco so not flower as well as a good Soil will. I am just being honest, you will have better overall results in soil with dey ammendments in Coco. Coco plants prefer being fed multiple times per day by nutrients. I run small pots and feed 2-3x per day in Coco. If you prefer Coco over Soil, nutrients work better. If you want water only and dry ammendments, I woukd highly suggest a good all in one soil from Kis Organics or Build a Soil over Coco and dry ammendments. Coco loses its steam in flower and the plants dont do neraly as well on the second half of their life. Just keeping it real, I have done hundreds and hundreds of plants in Coco. Good luck, slow

I was wondering how well this worked. No way you could water only with just that little bit of nutes for the whole cycle.

It works decently in veg, plants usually look healrhy and grow decently. But in Coco, those dry nutes dont have enought true Organic material in to last the full cycle IMO. But when youbuse dry ammendments in a larger pot of soil, they work much better. Even then you often have to reapply, but the slow release dry ammendments are too slow for the high feeding needs of Coco. Each medium has its pluses and minuses. Coco rocks when you feed it like hydro. You can make it til the end with Coco and dry ammendments...but the yield and quality is not as good as in a nice soil. Peace, slow

Thanks for that.... BUT .... I have grown plants in soil with dry amendments. I have also done coco with liquid nutes. For me... this IS a superior modality of growing cannabis with great ease. I have used “super soil” in the past and it had ok results. I too, have used coco with liquid nutes. I average 3-4oz per plant that way. I have some many hydro plants as well. These plants are smaller because I have trained them to fit in the closet under only 300 watts of cob light. Yet I bet I will get at least 2oz off each, except the small sour stomper. And in my space- that’s exactly what I planned for.

with dry amendments.. you just top dress a week or so before the plants need more nutes in flower. You can easily water every day, no problem. It’s really quite simple.

if you think dry amendments don’t do well in coco, or that it somehow compromises quality and finished product.. you need to do some research.

Check out mr Canucks grow. Pretty well irrefutable to say he’s not doing an excellent job with coco and dry amendments.

It works extremely well. And is so soooo easy. Check out the video I posted in the comments
