hello good people of afn, this is my first post, need some tips n tricks, I will try to explain in detail everything I need to know and what you need to know to help me =)

So I have some exp in photo canabis (2 growth outdoor) and have 1 growth outdoor with AF but I was growing directly in ground soil, this year I plan to grow in pots about 20l/5 US gallons large. I will make rock wall around pots so sun doesnt directly hits plastic pots so I guess soil will hold moisture longer.

From what I have read around this and other forums size of pots will be decent enough for AF, correct me if I'm wrong.

I live in 43 latitude, mediterranean climate, so hot, long and dry summer (usually)

I would like to get around 60-70g per plant if everything goes well, when I had my first af growth I got 40-45g per plant, it was kalashnikova auto from green house seeds.

I was looking at rqs northern light cause it looks like one of the best yield af, dont want super autos cause they need bigger pots and more water. Do you have any other AF strain that is better then nl regarding yield and taste?

And I dont have water source so I need to carry water on this spot I would like to know how much water per plant I will need to use since it is different then when you water plant that is directly in ground, I plan to plant 5 plants, maybe more

`Hello Piper,

Looks like you will be on your way soon.

Mediterranean ay? I live in California, so it is similar weather, hot dry, long summers.

do you know how I know it is the similar climate?

Because people here say we have a "mediterranean" climate, ha ha ha.

:Sharing One:

I will be keepin' an eye on ya. I like your ideas for your grow season coming up. You gonna try to do two crops this year?

Peace

Eek

Hey piper,
I'm also in mediterranian climate.
I'm growing superautos, but if I had to choose an auto strain for outdoors, I'd think of strains like:

DP - Durban Poison Auto, Auto Ultimate, AutoXtreme, BAM or AM.
Stitch - Mi5, Formula1, WhiteSirius
SweetSeeds - Sweet Trainwreck Auto or any other latest auto release(4th gen)

Remember that bigger pots retain more water, so less need of watering.
Good luck with the weather!

Nope only one crop, second part of summer is when I dont have that much time and with 9-10 month coming people go to their field so it is easier for someone to see me wonder around with buckets. I decided to grow AF cause it will be over in the middle of summer, I already got 250w hps so I'm might try indoors this winter also, if everything go well...

That DP strains looks good and my supplier has em, could mix some so I have choice of smoke... 50l of water every 3-4 day is enough for 5-6 plants? I mean overall not strictly

That's enough water I think.
I suggest you get some mixed strains and experiment which one adapts better to your climate.

Can't wait to see your grow:smoke:

About 1.5 gallons, or 7 liters, per plant should be sufficient for 5 gallon pots. Early in the grow when the plants are small you may not need to water more than every week to week and a half, depending on temperatures and humidity levels. As the plants get bigger and use water faster you may need to water as often as twice a week.

I got seeds, wanted to try 3 strains but distributor sells min 3 seeds so went for these 2 strains... Now I need to watch out for weather to give them most sunny days in the beginning of their life. Found good soil already and will go to buy it after weekend, it is not top quality but dont really have choice cause I went to all stores that sell soil and not that much of quality soil, will mix it wit perlite 50-50 or 60-40 not sure yet.

This is the soil I will buy: Florabella® Blumenerde

It is a mixture of White peat, Frozen through black peat and clay.

npk 14:16:18 1,5kg/m3

electric conductivity: 40 mS/m (+/- 25%)

pH: 5,5-6,5
