So this is my first grow ever, I've got an auto big buddha/NL mix that just turned 7 weeks old. I'm in the DC area and space is hard to some by, so it's growing on the edge of a field. It gets tons of direct sun until about 3pm. Used an organic nutrient soil mix, some SuperThrive in the first few weeks of growing, and I've got water polymer crystals in the ground to help regulate water because I've been out of town quite a lot. Started off with 3 plants but two were KIA the second week :( Also, had to put them in the ground at a week old because I had to leave town, which probably wasn't good for their health.
The plant's a foot tall and kinda thin, and the buds have just started growing. Starting to smell! I'm thinking it'll be about 3 weeks till it's ready to harvest but that's just a guess. There's insect damage on some of the leaves, but it doesn't look major. Leaves Advice/feedback/criticism/speculation, anyone? :)

(can't post pics, sorry!)

If she's just starting to bud now it won't be done in 3 weeks, more like 6 or 7, so you may run into some cold weather and/or frost issues. Once soil temperatures start to get into the 50s and the roots get cool, growth will start to slow. At the very least I would suggest you mulch it good with some grass clippings or straw to help keep the soil warm.

namvet- thanks, hope so.
Muddy- My timing on this was pretty bad in terms of growing season, it was a last minute decision. I'll lay down some mulch to help keep the soil warm. Thanks for the help!

I hate to bring an old thread back to life, however.
Has anyone had a successful harvest growing auto's in an urban guerrilla style plot?
Do the street lights hamper flowering?
Just wondering as I am thinking about putting some where they would be subject to stray light sources ( street lights, automobile headlights, etc)
Anyone have any experience with this?
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks, ilynnboy

I pull off urban grows all the time, you just have to be smart about hiding it.

Thanks for the reply Mr Piggy.
So there is no deleterious effects from stray light sources then?
This is a major reason for my interest in autos.
That, and speed to harvest.
Thanks again.
