So my apera ph60 needs calibration every time I use it. Only about a year old and I'm getting wild readings all over the place. Bought a new probe for it and it's still doing the same thing. Put the new probe on yesterday, soaked it and recalibrated everything and this morning it's reading 7.26/3.86/10.88 with the 7.0/4.0/10.0 solutions. I've emailed them for support but no response. Anybody know if there's a reset or way to fix it? It's basically killing all my plants

I don't own an Apera personally. I have a higher end HM Digital. Not the little $20 square ones, I think it was around $70-ish so it is comparable to the better pens like the Apera.

I'm going to assume that the battery is good? Have you tried to shake it like a thermometer to get any possible air bubble(s) out of the probe? I'm not a PH pen expert. Just issues I have come across above.

yeah new batteries and probe. Definitely not air bubbles. My plants have never looked worse (there's a help thread) and now I'm realizing that every single time I check my pH, I have to recalibrate. So I think I've possibly been feeding them acid for months. This apera has replaceable probes, so got a new one and fresh batteries and still exact same problem with constant calibration

Get a new PH meter!

Check warranty on the old one. - Tell them about the problem.

sounds like the main body is stuffed mate. At least you now have a spare probe, maybe even two of them...

My Apera pH60 is still perfect after >2 years. If I were you, I would just buy another one. It is basically a good unit, but even the best of them have issues once in a while.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

Comes with a 2 year warranty. They're support says they'll get back within 1 day but it's the weekend so i guess I'll give them a couple more days. These plants are falling apart so quick I don't think another couple days will be the nail in the coffin. I'd rather not buy a $75 meter every year

Update. Apera contacted me yesterday. Needed receipts for the pen, probe, and calibration fluid and the serial number from the pen. Sent it all in and today they sent me tracking for the new replacement pen they're sending. So good on them for honoring the warranty
Good to hear. I personally have a blue lab and I think it is four years old I just pulled out of a two year hiatus and it is still going. I am guessing you might of got a deflective one. I love it when a company takes care of a customer. :pass:

Agreed. Either it was defective from the start or possibly due to me leaving the cap off for like 1 night. Definitely a good look when they honor their own warranty. New one actually came on Friday. They sent just the body, no probe. In the past couple months I've had apera and Mars hydro both honor their warranties. Malfunctioning equipment totally ruined this run but appreciate both of them sending replacements without really much hassle at all
