40 yrs of growing everything i can and have never used a ph meter ---i must be an old dumb ass farmer----advice from anyone will help.

I'm getting into it recently. Are you testing soil, water, both?

I never used one either, but I do now on occasion.. alot of people say stay away from the cheap ones, but man I can't see spending $300 on a meter. I went for middle of the road

Thanks for the question and the answers. I've been thinking about upgrading from this one to something a little more durable.

Along this line - do you (anyone) control soil/bedding ph or water/nutes ph? Personally I've started controlling ph in nutes. I typically add lime juice to bring the ph closer to 6.0.

I always bubble for at least 24 hours before adding nutes and then I ph.
