Both Double Grape Mephisto.
Exact same growing conditions.

I grow once per year so this is just sad.

60 days old.

I had 2 different phenos with my last double grape run. Same scenario as far as pot, soil, nutes but 2 different results. 1 of them grew fast and large, and although the other almost caught up she was still smaller. The biggest difference was the larger of the 2 maintained lush green flowers, the 2nd started transitioning to purple flower and sugar leaves. Both beautiful, beautiful but different.

Interesting.

I'm bummed because I have a short yearly grow window and needed more quantity.
Oh well. Sounds like it happens. It's just never happened to me this dramatically before.

My favorite Mephisto is White Crack but I couldn't find it for this grow. Never had an issue with it.

I have not grown double grape, but plenty of variation in seeds. Not all seeds are strong. When you grow most plants you plant a lot of extra seeds and pick the strongest seedlings and cull the rest. When I used to grow Photos 20 years ago you would get ten seed pack and plant them all and cull the males and weakest plants, grow the others out, and take clones. Then hold the clones till the other plants grew out then get rid of the clones you did not want and keep one as a mother to cut clones from. Now they want 10-15 dollars a seed sometimes and with all think they should grow great. Nature has different thoughts.

Sounds like why I like CS.

In fairness to Mephisto I bought seeds from a seed dealer this time. I don't know if they get the less viable seeds or not. Maybe they were older seeds?
