Ok guys, first grow got pics. What do you guys think? I really don't know what day I'm on because my dumb ass didn't write it down. However, its probably around day 50. They look a bit thin and I think that is probably due to another first time mistake of letting them grow for a couple of weeks in front of a window (Bad light, temp, etc.) They are 2 auto bubble and 2 auto critical from femaleseeds.nl. All in all they have done great for what I have been working with.

I did a successful transplant yesterday and now I have 2 150 watt cfl 2700k and 1 60 watt cfl 6500k. I'm using generic nutrients until my advanced nute stuff gets here.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Hi Sugarman,

Plants look good, including the large pot with 4 in it, that you transplanted (good job)!

I would say (with my limited experience & I'm also using CFL's) that the lighting could possibly do with more 6500K bulbs? :2cents:

My understanding is the 2700K(red) is mainly for flowering (helps produce big buds) & the 6500K(blue) or 6400K(blue) is for seeds (early stages) & veg (helps with leaf & stem growth)...may be worth your while looking into it?

ya I often dont write it down either no worries.LOL!I just go by ok hey theres Pistils Oh its flowering.LOL!Dont feel bad there. If memeory serves me right since Im a lil medictaed at this point in time ,I think the Blues are for Seedling stages as well as Vegging too.Reds and I think with blues to a lesser degree are your flowering color(s).red def. beez fer flowering.Lights may be a lil close for heat, try to watch the temps with a lil airflow.Best Karma brother.Happy trouble free growing friend! :wiz:

Jonny,

I would think two 150 watt cfls (2700k) and one 65 watt cfl (6500k) would be enough. These girls are flooded with light. They are stretching for any that is for sure. I have been bending a little to kind of keep some of the leaves from growing into the lights. I also have a large fan rotating and circulating air. The temps are staying around 80. Any other suggestions anyone?

Actually bro yes it is. What is the difference? (New to this).

its just best to go by the actual wattage not its equivalent more accurate and less confusing on here people will be talking the actual draw/wattage.
or even better go by lumens.

I think the total lumens for all lamps is around 4000. Is that ok?

you want to aim for 3-5000 lumens per square foot. multiply the width and length of your grow room/tent to get the square footage then multiply that by 3000 watts and thatll be the amount of lumens needed for minimum lighting in that area for good results. use 5000+ instead for more optimal results.

example:
2x4=6 square feet of growing area.

6x5000(lumens)= 30,000 lumens are needed to achieve 5000/sqft

5000+ is optimal but obviously you can get away with less the calculations are just to let you know how ideal your setup is etc.
and all of this is assuming heat isnt an issue.

i dont know how exactly to calculate how big your grow area is though, sounds low to me though. if heat isnt an issue more lights is usually a good idea.

a basic minimum rule is 50 actual watts per square foot of grow space.

if you can enclose the area with something youll get more use out of the light youre already using as it bounces off walls etc. the tin foils helping but itd be good if you could enclose and ventilate aswell. looking good and healthy though
