Hi guys! Getting geared up to start cleaning up the grow room this week, once squared away I am going to do a straight coco grow feed to waste (was going to buy either a 3x3 or 4x4 tray, prop the back end up with a few blocks of wood or whatever to create a slope, than will use shop vac to suck up waste...well that's the plan any how) wanting to get the actual canna coco loose in a bag to use.... Got what I hope is a GREAT ph/TDS combo unit:

(long story on how this meter is coming to me, but trust me I could never afford that price, call it karma of the universe paying me back ;) )

question is how's that meter look? I hope it's better than the crappy plain ph meter I had by them the ec100...

I want to feed this time not by "eyeing it" or going blindly like I've been using the lazy mans Advanced Nutrients.... I want to step things up a notch and see really what kinda grower I am.. As far as I'm concerned using AN is fool proof and not always a great indicator of your true growing skillz. I see so MANY DAMN options for the ppm settings which measurement is it I'm looking to use for this application? (The sodium level choices is what's confusing me) I will get around to reading the stickies, just thought I'd throw this out there to see if someone could help me with this meter...

I think you're supposed to use sodium chloride which is NaCl. Honestly though idk.

Dude that is one hell of a meter. It's kinda scary. I use the E.c or the ppm. If you use the ppm then just dbl that throw in a dot one point from the left and you got both. Example
700 ppm = 1.400 E.c does that help?
A shop vac......really? Okay, uh I may not be sure what your plan is
Your going to use a 3x3 or 4x4 table with coco, then just run drain to waste? Is that right?
If so, prop up both ends just put one end lower then the other/drain end 1/4 -1/2 in. And put a bucket or small catch bucket under drain valve. That's just me.

That's one fine lookin meter you got there yoda! I use the 20$ yellow one, stays dead on until it craps out in 2 years lol, atleast that's what my last one lasted me. Anyways, for that price, I would hope it wipes your ass to, so it better damn well be a good one. You get what you pay for!

Thanks guys, I like the meter but it's a pain in the ass as you got to switch out probes manually between ph and tds... I got a bluelabs combo meter blu2300 on it's way next week.... The flood tray is tilted ever so slightly by resting one side of it on the base of oscillating fan... It creates a enough of a incline to drain all the waste to one end and than I just use the small $30 2gal shop vac to suck up the waste, also use the shop vac to suck up the old res water while changing so I don't have to lug them buckets around...: looking forward to getting going on the real coco grows... Got a bag of canna coco waiting for me, and I think I'll invest in the rest of the canna line of nutes which seem a lot cheaper than the an stuff IM using now...

Sounds like a plan. Looking forward to seeing it in action.

Canna's good yoda. Ive had great success with canna line top to bottom. Just use a graded scale for nutrients and you should be fine. Put up some pics bro.

Wussup strakey! Thanks! I got a few grows going now in the coco , was using the an line up but to be frank got tired of all their products and wasn't the happiest with their coco formulas... I plenty of it left that I will use it up but
mid I've switched to cannas line of nutes (a&b, rhizo, boost , cannazym, and have used 1ml so far of the pk 13/14)... For bloom I've been using 5ml cal/mag and 4ml of the a&b, cannazym, and boost and 2ml of the rhizo... Feeding like three times a day... The plants seen much "healthier"... So far really pleased with the canna nutes! Not to pleased with this on going gnat problem, seems the suckers love the coco? I thought they didn't like it....got some sticky paper sticks on the way to put in the soil, will also bust out a few no pest strips... Sorta keeps them under control... If worse comes to worse ill nuke em with a h202 drench.... But than got to re establish the good benies.... Very close to calling it a day with all these reg testers I've been giving a go... It's been male city...: if in the next couple of weeks I see no females going to pop some more fem beans instead to ensure a Merry Xmass and good new year!
It is that time of year folks to get going on out Holliday smoke,
maybe AFN will host another Xmass canna tree contest....! Anyone thinking of throwing anything down for the Holliday harvest?

I run coco only and holy smokes I got them on this drop setup. their monsters. I send you big bushy green karma boss. Peace. !

Sounds good patawan but work you have............cant resist man.. ive never had an insect problem with coco. Im growing in a room under the stairs used for storage in a dr 60 tent. They dont seem to get in nor much other insects as well. Try a pepper spray to keep em off your plants and top layer of coco. The strips should round up the fliers. Scotch bonnet would be the best but habenero worked for me. Just dice peppers and boil it up seeds and all and pour the liquid in a spray bottle with the seeds in it also. Make sure you wear a hospital mask or similar and aerate your house when cooking it
