Mephisto Genetics Plants per square foot?

I've noticed in the Mephisto strain guide there are recommendations of up to 12 per 1.2mx1.2m (4x4).

I have a 3x3 space and tried 6 and it was a jungle. I did get 19.6 ounces though.

What would you grow in a 3x3?

This next grow I'm going to try 4 in 5 gallon organic soil.

4 sounds good, if they still get too big, which they might in 5 gallons, then reduce pot size. Some guys like one big plant in 3x3, but I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

You and I have both discovered that 6 plants is too much in a 3' x 3' tent.
None of the 6 reached its potential, and the yield per plant, and total yield, was much less than when doing 4.
Even 4 is probably too much, but that's what I do.

4 plants in 5 gallon in 3x3 sounds about right to me. depending on strain selection it could get hairy... I am considering 9 plants in 3 gallon in 5x5 next run. I typically do 4 plants in waterfarms in 5x5.

I've grown in a 3x3 and it really is strain dependent and pot size. I've done 4 but I found I got a better over all smokable yield from 3 due to having better light penetration by being able to spread the canopy out a bit more.... the Mephisto calculation is amusing your using the sea of green method for a production level. Its aimed at the people where yield come first if ya know what I mean

This next grow I'm going to try 4 in 5 gallon organic soil.

I grow in a about 28 X 60 inch closet for about 11 sq feet. Only grow 3 plants at a time under 300 watts of cob lighting in 3 gal equiv air pots. With Mephisto I get enough for me and my buddies and 3 plants are easy to take care of. I don't need a jungle to take care of

I would grow 5 or 6. You've already gotten 19.6 oz. from the tent. To just equal that with 4 plants, you would have to average 4.9 oz/plant. The likelihood of doing that is low.

I cant say the exact dimension of my area, but would estimate its probably around 4x4. It's bigger length wise compared to width.. I usually stick with 4 altogether in 5 gallon buckets. 2 in veg, and 2 in flower. Unfortunately, I've lost 1 or 2 due to being runts and not being worth the energy. So was glad to run 2 perpetual. The last run we tried to do 4 at once, and lost 3.... [emoji53]

I like that idea but it gets to be a bit much in the tent.

Last grow was over 12 ounces for three plants. One didn’t make it.
